well with the recent death of robin williams i decided to look for some movies with him in it .. i had seen this one 20 somethin years ago .. i had it in my video store when it came out and thought it was a really good movie then . so i found it on netflix and then i saw they were gonna remove it on the 1st of sept. so we watched it yesterday .. i found it to be even better than i remembered it .. maybe because i'm 24 years older now and my heart has softened quite a bit .. but a lot of what happened is still pretty current today ..

  jeff bridges plays a radio talk show host who is the most narcicistic bastard goin and will say anything to get a good rating and he set one listener off who was one cookie crumb away from the cookie truck and he killed a bunch of people who were eatin in a resturaunt .. one of them bein robin williams wife .. which sent robins character over the edge .. so after so long in an institution they set him loose on the streets .. just like now .. and this was all before columbine .. so jeff bridges ( who plays the radio talk show asshole pretty good  ) tries to help robin thinkin he can set the ying and the yang of his own universe right again somehow if he does .. robin see bridges as some kinda sir galahad who will help him get the holy grail .. this movie is part fantasy , part drama , part comedy and all heart .. altho at first you don't think bridges character has any .. but i guess love is crazy and sometimes you just need someone who is out of their flippin mind to show you the way .. and robin did it perfectly .. which makes his passing all the more hard to deal with .. if you've never seen this movie i give it 5 stars.. if you have seen it but it was back in 91 .. see it again .. and pay attention this time .. it will touch your heart .. truly it will ..

I saw it years ago and I remember its having lots of philosophy coming from the "crazy" guy. I need to watch it again.

you really do cresty .. if you loved coo coo's nest then you'll absolutely love this one too .. only robins character is absolutely batshit crazy .. and nicholsons was just a non conformist who was labeled as crazy . but after all his character had been thru his heart was still ready to love again .. with all the demons around him he was still gonna try .. and amanda plummer was perfect as the clutsy introverted object of his affection .. i watch some films and all i can think is whew thats a couple of hours i'll never get back again .. this one made me wish there was a fisher king part 2.. or if they could have written this as a series for his big comeback on tv .. i loved that crazy guy robin played .. maybe not enough to go nude moon bathin in central park at night with him .. but almost ..
