Do you think it’s fair to have cigarette smoking as a deal-breaker in a relationship?

What Ya Think ?

No, as long as they took it outside to do it. I am in the process of quiting by using an e-cigarette. didn't smoke much and only outdoors.  There are far worser things to me than smoking.

When i got married the old lady smoked . Was no way i could entice her to quit so i joined her in smoking . I smoked for a little over 10 years . After she split up and went her ways . I had my Daughters to raise . It was getting hard to get a breath when i worked doing my job . We had a Baptist preacher that worked there . He said one day i could quit if i wanted to . That night i handed my Cig's to my mom . Told her to get rid of them . Never smoked again . That was over 30 years ago . I do love the smell . A couple month ago a lady i know came to see me . We were singing friend . She got real close to me . Kissing me on my head (not that head) . She reeked of smoke . Almost to the point of gagging . I just don't think i could handle being or living with a woman whom smoked ... Others can . I can't

No smoking in the house. Otherwise, why would I throw away a wonderful person because he smoked?  My husband smokes.  I spray him with cologne and have him wash up before he comes near me. If he smokes on the road outside the car, he now comes in and sprays cologne on himself and in the car.

I am a light and casual smoker, outside, about a pack a week, but I hate the smell, hate hate hate it.  I quit for 6 years--not even a puff--then I got very depressed in the middle of winter when I had to put my beloved dog down and used that as an excuse to start chipping a little and whammo. The few I smoke, I love.  Maybe I'lll quit completely again, don't know, but imagine if someone said to me, "I don't want to be with you because you smoke."  What a deal he'd be missing out on! LOL!

Kewl Johanna . Thats a little different . I don't mind people smoking it's when they blow it in my face . When i quit , the pounds started coming on . I could smoke today but choose not to . I also believe me quitting gave me a few more years of life . Heard Obama was gonna get it passed to add a dollar a pack added to the price soon ....

I like you're thinking crest.  We all have vices of some sort.

It would be a deal breaker for me, I was a former smoker pre 1985 I've lived too long without smoke in my house and car and clothes. I don't want to go back to that for anyone.

It was also a deal breaker for my husband, he wouldn't date anyone who smoked when he was single, he was very adamant about it, it didn't matter if the person was rich and famous he would not go out with them if they smoked.

Correction time!  To those of you calling me JoHanna, there is no H in my name.  It's Joanna. :)

just for a little reinforcement..

Thank you.... Haven't heard this one for a while.

Sorry !!!

it wouldn't be a deal breaker because the deal wouldn't even start....  altho i dont know for sure, i can't stand the leftover smoke on clothes, in the house etc and it's not real healthy for anyone, but i have smoked in the past(yes, chief, even a cigar, a nice one, not an ol' stogie!) would i do it again? probably not... but .....

I was a smoker for quite a while and most people I knew were and all the men I was with were too. Since I quit, I haven't been with anyone who was a smoker. If I think about it, I only know of two people in my circle of friends who still smoke. They don't smoke around me or anyplace I have been with them.

I don't like the smell of smoky people or smoky air or a house...they would have to be pretty fastidious. They would have to be pretty special to be around...I dunno.
