Whoa Nellie!!

I don't know if they were licensed but on First Street in Laramie many of the old timers can point out which upstairs apts. were in that business. It was common, I guess it still is in most cities, just not legal.

it was common everywhere. after all, it wasn't THAT long ago that there were very few jobs for women that paid decent money (the disparity in men's and women's pay is still there but just less pronounced)..so some women used that as a supplement to their 'legitimate' income...others depended on that 'other income' entirely

well one of my favorite movies of all time was north to alaska with john wayne and stewart granger .. and john ends up pickin up a hooker to take back to his buddy . granger because his french fiance married someone else .. of course he was drunk when he hatched up this plan but even drunk people can say somethin smart from time to time .. i know cause i been pretty drunk and if i really drink a lot sometimes i'm a damm genius ..  ( i never seem to be that smart when i sober up tho strangely enough .. i wonder why that is ) anyway what he said was .. any woman who devotes her life to makin one man miserable instead of a lot of men happy don't get his vote .. sounds like words of wisdom to me .. ok uno .. its up to you now cause i'm out here on this ledge all alone ..

This discussion caused me to look into the Cigar Box where I keep some newspaper clippings to chronicle the psyche of the human animal. Alas, I could not find the one I wanted because I probabley did not save it so I had to resort to the "Cigar Box" in my mind.  Many years ago I read a story about some plane crash survivors. The plane crashed somewhere and most on board the airliner were killed except for a handful of people and the story was about how they were living their lives years after the crash. Among them was a French woman who at the time of the story was 50 years old. The crash had affected her in such a way that she became determined in a manner similar to Frenchy's comments to devote herself to giving joy to others. Long story short she took up prostitution in a certain way accomodating several regular select clients per week that made it through her application process. Her new profession provided her with an income and a means of addressing what the plane crash and deaths taught her about life (and death).

I took me so long to post because of some of the other stories in the Cigar Box that I alway get distracted by, like the one were some guy allegedly sued a topless club, claming whiplash or the one where in Montana a man was killed while trying to create Bigfoot sighting when he was struck by two cars.

This story of the lady changing her occupation after the plane crash makes me smile...I hope it's true and she has  made some herself and a few others happy.

Blithe, you know I would not make up a spiritually enriching story like that, but I was not able to do literary justice to it. ;-)  However, I did double check the one about the man claiming whiplash after visiting a strip club.  It later did go to a TV show called "People's Court" Judge Ed Koch presiding, or such. http://www.thesmokinggun.com/documents/crime/bouncing-breast-suit-g...   Snopesdotcom debunked some versions of the story such as those that said the man was killed and all versions claiming a 60HH to 69HHH breast size which have never been known in reality except in men fantasies and in those 1970s motorcycle magazines. :-)

i did see a story in a british online tabloid about a woman trying to be a world record for boobsize....the surgeon filled her out using polypropyene rope.....guess she was trying to have an IQ=boobsize moment....examples.....

maybe he thought he was being threatened when the bouncer asked "hey buddy, you looking for a bust in the mouth?"

ehh .. i think he might have been under the influence of silicone ..
