My husband and I are meeting some friends of ours for dinner later on this evening. The place we're going to has only been opened about 6 wks or so and this will be our first time there. Now, some other friends of ours, two different couples actually, have already been there and both gave it bad reviews. Everything from poor waitresses to poor food, not having a number of items on the menu available down to waiting nearly an hour for their bill. I let the couple we're meeting know this today (as I just heard the bad reviews) and left it up to them as to whether we should still go there or choose some place else. They want to give it a try, we figure what the hell, and so we're going. I just hope we aren't making a big mistake as it's supposed to be pretty pricey and I'm not going to be pleased if it sucks.

That's a bad situation. Just go and have fun, if it sucks, well, it sucks.
Alot of times it takes several months for a new restaurant to iron out all the kinks. The 'bad' food is concerning because that should be good from the start. Although food is often a matter of individual taste. I'd tell you what I'd do but my handbook on 'the care and maintenance of women' states that women want men to listen to them, but do not want men to solve their problems.
And what are you smoking today? What does that have to do with food?????????
take a couple sammiches in your pocket...if the food is bad, very publicly unwrap your sammiches ...or complain politely and send it back...your choice...
I'm glad we went as it turned out fine! We all got something different and all of it was good. The waitress could have been better but I think she was just not very experienced. The place wasn't packed but there was a constant flow so I found that encouraging. Our friends were lots of fun as usual so it was a good evening. Now I'm off to let the friends who dissed the joint know that we had a good experience there. I also need to put those sammiches in the fridge for lunch tomorrow ;)
