i think they like to collect money for a service they don't ever wanna have to pay for .. i consider them a nesessary evil .. its like one of them dirty jobs .. and somebody has to do it .. somehow i think we do it wrong tho .. we all have catastrophe's that happen to us and i do believe insurance is a good idea for when that happens .. but somehow in my mind it just seems so wrong to profit from others misfortune .. if it was me i'd try to make insurance non profit .. this way everybodies covered and the people who work in that field can still make a livin at it .. but the guys at the top can't remodel their office with a 50 thousand dollar gold trash can and then turn you down for a claim that you desperately need and have been payin on for 23 years .. and the ceo wouldn't get 21 million a year because he saved the co. money by not payin out claims that are legit .. i dunno what do you guys think ??

works that way for medical insurance too....one woman testified before congress prior to the affordable health care act that she had been paying for her medical insurance for years with no real claims...until she was diagnosed with melanoma..then the insurance company cancelled her policy citing the fact that she had a few moles as evidence that her melanoma was  'a pre-existing condition'...

or just before one hurricane (ike or one of those) homeowners in south texas with policies with one company were sent notices by the carrier with confirmation that their deductible had tripled....course it was not legal because they have to give 30 days notification of any changes and it was only 3 to 5 days....but what are the odds that a lot of homeowners don't know that?

I have no health Ins . Just Medicare . I use State Farm for my truck and have no gripes with them . .....

Medicare is health insurance that you paid into while working. It really does give better service than insurance companies. I wish the whole country was on a government medical care like Medicare.

part of all this depends on just which insurance company you deal with. i've never had any trouble with usaa. a few with a couple other companies. and there are companies that are absolutely notorious for denying claims..allstate owned by sears was reknowned for always denying any and all claims. i had a claim against one of their policyholders once (she popped the clutch at a red light the instant it turned green tho everyone was stopped...bingo rear end collision...and it took a threat to sue to get them to cover the damage..)

Frenchy said it very well.
