TBD

TBD on Ning

Couldn't wait to see you waiting by the door
There was no one there to meet me and your clothes were on the floor
Sorry if I hurt you and I made you cry
Couldn't stand to see you with another guy
It's the bluest blues
And it cuts me like a knife
It's the bluest blues
Since you walked out of my life

Couldn't really tell you how you hurt my pride
Something broke within me down inside
Never knew I loved you till you went away
Now the loneliness surrounds me every day
It's the bluest blues
Since you walked out of the door
It's the bluest blues
'Cause I won't see you no more

Sorry if I failed you and somehow I'm to blame
The bluest blues I'm feeling is a crying shame
Just can't live without you, face another day
'Cause the bluest blues I'm feeling and it's here to stay
It's the bluest blues
And it cuts me to the bone
It's the bluest blues
When you can't find your way home

it seems that alvin lee died a couple of months ago .. not sure exactly what from .. i read he was in spain visitin or livin there i'm not sure , but he was havin a problem with his heart rate .. speedin up and just not right somehow , so he went in for some kinda procedure , exactly what again they don't say but he didn't make it .. he was 68 years old .. he was one of my favorites .. a much better guitar player than he was ever credited for .. but he was easily as good as clapton or page or peter green of fleetwood mac or any of the guitar gods you can mention from the late 60's and early 70's .. he had a big influence on me .. i had to have a red hollowbody gibson like his .. i finally did get one and it wasn't the one i wanted so i got another one .. here's a pic of me from way back with my red gibson hollowbody.. if you look real close at the bottom you can see my son eric who is about 9 months old or so tryin to climb up my leg .. anyway , i just thought i'd say somethin about his untimely demise ..

You look about twelve!  The shirt is appropriate for today.  So cute that your little boy is hangin' on to his pap.

I am on here paying bills and listening to opera at the moment!

thats me about 40 years ago cresty .. where does all the time go huh ??

and post a few of his songs .. sort of have my own alvin lee memorial .. here's another great song he did back in 1969 or so ..love like a man ..  once in awhile i still dust it off and just jam away on it .. it was good then and its still good now .. and the bass player in this band 10 years after leo lyons is just a monster ..

and there were plenty of great performances at woodstock but 50 years from now when they look back at it all this one will stand out as one of the best showcases of pure rock and roll from that period .. its no surprise they call clapton slowhand if he had to stand next to alvin lee .. he played like a man possesed that nite ..

and who could forget this song ?? i'd love to change the world .. a real social statement from the times we were in ..long before don henley was singin about the end of the innocence alvin wrote this .. pretty much says it all ..

there were so many good songs that he did .. i could be here all nite .. maybe even a few nites longer  .. but i'll stop here for tonite with this song .. about aliens .. here they come ..

if you can think of anything that you remember by him that you like please post it .. this is a memorial post after all .. all i can say is he will be missed by me .. he was a great artist who deserves to be remembered .. if he touched you in any way nows the time to say so ..

I think I remember this one, "I'd love the change the world"...feels very familiar to me.

OMG!  This is what I call Vietnam music.

There's some good guitar playing at that end of that song.  I don't know that I am familiar with Alvin Lee, certainly haven't heard the first song before.  But I listen to some of the others and see if it triggers any memories.

you likely missed it, frenchy, cause there were a few weeks there when there was a whole list of people getting off the bus. we had singers, guitarists, composers and all sorts of people check out like it was the monday after a holiday weekend.
