here's a good article on computer storage with some background information about where it evolved from...just think it used to be a 5 MB storage was about the size of your kitchen range and when they shrank them down, a high-cost option was a 12 MB hard drive in a computer.....now the new ones are running 1 to 1.5 terabytes....
