like everything......moderation
When i was young and working i would take caffeine pills called Speckled birds , 357 Magnums , blacks . It helped getting through the day . After awhile you got immune to them . More or less they didn't do any good . When you came off a Caffeine high . You felt so low ya didn't have strength to move . Sometimes causing headaches and nervous shaking . Yes they should be banned big time . Our country is infested with Caffeine products . Pot would have been better back then , Maybe ?
I was referring to young kids getting them Elementary age of kids for banning . Or at least not sell to kids . Then that would make another problem . Cutoff age ....Maybe not ?
I had such extreme fatigue about 10 years ago that an hour in the grocery store and I could barely drive the 5 minutes home without falling asleep so YES I tried the energy drinks and...I would fall DEAD asleep as soon as I was able to sit down!! When I would wake up 2-3 hours later, I would be achy and dragged out still. NOT kidding!! Tried several different kinds and ...same thing. For some reason caffeine pills did the trick to keep me awake, sometimes.
I also tried those protein/nutrition drink (Ex. Ensure, Muscle Milk) thinking they may give me a boost but they just made me very achy in my arms and legs and crampy in my stomach. I didnt catch on for YEARS but finally realized it was the sweetener in the Energy drinks and Ensure. It is called Maltodextrin and FOR ME....it is VERY BAD!!
Having said all that, NO, I dont think they should be banned then you would have to take coffee away too. I WISH I liked coffee but I really cant stand even the smell of it. Everything affects people differently. I cant be the only person who caffeine in liquid form does NOT affect me in any way.
When you ban things you create a black market and have no control over it. They recently legalized pot here. Maybe it will help get rid of some of the drug dealers.
kind of a philosophical question, isn't it? do you think people should be all grown up and in charge of their lives or should government try to outlaw stupidity? there are some cases for government being involved such as defective products and speed limits to limit damage to innocent people but hey...you can't keep people from being just flatout fucking stupid. that might be part of darwin's law....and at what point would you say enough? we gotta outlaw buffet restaurants? put governors on cars so they don't go too fast in case someone really really stupid decides to do 90 on a curving road in the rain? maybe only sell rubber saw blades so you can't cut yourself? sorry wayne but it was a way silly question...
and how bout this? if it worked out like this all the time, good deal...free guns for idiots...
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- A teenager is recovering after police say he shot himself in the penis and testicle while cleaning a gun he just bought.
It happened Thursday morning at a home on the 200 block of Verada Street in Port St. Lucie.
Police say 18-year-old Michael Smeriglio first lied to police saying someone shot him while he was walking down the street. After being questioned by police he admitted to accidentally doing it himself.
Doctors say the bullet went through his penis, his left testicle and then lodged itself in his thigh.
Smeriglio told police he bought the gun last month at a party.
While police were investigating at the home where it happened, they discovered marijuana in the house. That led to the arrest of the homeowner Joseph Lamar James, 22, on drug charges.
I like the idea of rubber saw blades .....
I found this on Web MD........Of the more than 5,100 unintentional injuries to children that happened each year in a known location, more than half (55%) of the injuries happened at home.
If parents can't even protect their own children from being killed in their own homes...seems that the biggest danger to children is not society or government but their own parents.
Many laws are passed with good intention...to what end?
Should we make laws about who gets to have children? hmmmmm...mandatory sterilization?....hmmmm.
The part I don't like is having things on the market that you are not aware of like trans fats for many years when no one knew how harmful they were to health. Lets test things before they get to the market and stop using people as guinnea pigs like the GMO's out now. How many years will it take to find out what harm they will do?
for big people i'd say its up to them to drink em or not .. but for 10 year olds ?? ehh .. i dunno .. how many really smart 10 year olds have you met ?? and maybe i just worded that badly .. more like knowledgeable .. i mean how much can you know at 10 ?? so i'd say keep em on the top shelf so the kiddies can't get to em till they're old enough .. how old ?? i dunno .. older than 10 anyway .. probably 16 at least .. shit if you saw some of the stupid shit i was takin when i was 21 .. and 22 and 23 .. ya think i woulda knew better ?? nope .. not till my 23rd year of life did i come to my senses .. up till then i was 10 feet tall and bulletproof .. and i had a gun pulled on me more than once .. not by the same guy mind you now .. i think dwalt hit the nail on the head . at least if you legalize somethin then you can control it .. but i'd think with that bein said its adults we're talkin about here .. i doubt they're gonna let kids smoke weed . not that they're gonna stop em either .. but they can make it a little more difficult for em if they're still kids .. or at least they should try anyway ..
Anybody tried this stuff? Tastes like shit. Can't imagine young kids would want to drink it...they usually go for sweet.
And they are expensive...those 5 hour jobbies are kept behind the counter at most of the jiffie stores around here because they are little and easy to shoplift. They cost a lot more than soda and the all the colored sugary slushy stuff...kids are usually looking for lots of drink for little money.
I asked the store owner around the lake where I live about them...he said he's never had a kid ask for one...the high school kids like em though he said...and he thinks people that have hangovers like em... and truck drivers..LOL!
