What do you think of picking off people's ( like SOs or kids or close relatives or close friends) plates to see what their food tastes like?

I agree with Frenchy on this one.  Food is meant to be shared.  I have no problem sharing.  But it isn't a necessity for me, if someone doesn't like sharing no biggie, I can keep my fork on my own plate if need be.

Well, I don't mine sharing food . But if they take too dang much i get pissed . I never cared for drinking after another s drink . If I'm gonna swap spit then it will be mouth to mouth no fry in between . I never pick from a plate . I would ask to taste something i never had tasted before and if i liked it i would order it . My Cousin would grab a fry or onion ring from my plate but i consider him a best friend . One thing i do hate when eating is someone watching me . Even driving down a street meeting traffic . If i have a sandwich in my hand i will keep it where no one sees ti . After they pass then i will take a bite . My Cousin smacks his food , that kinda irritates me somewhat .....

I was on a volunteer trail work trip in Wyoming in the mountains years back and there was a young couple that brought only one dish and one utensil for both to eat with. One would spoon some food into the mouth of the the other and then that one would do so to the other.  We called them the Bird Couple because it looked like birds feeding each other a worm.

Maybe there is a theme for a new type of restaurant in all this discussion. You could have a section for the sharers and pickers where one puts the food on a revolving table and they just spin the table around and eat what they want. And then there would be a separate section for Flipper and me where we would sit with our machetes incase anyone reached for our food.

How do people feel about sharing their whiskey bottle with a tobacco chewer?

When people eat paella in Europe, they eat out of one dish in the middle of the table.  Different strokes!

However, I don't like to drink from someone else's bottle, tobacky or not.  I don't like the thought of backwash.

The whiskey would kill any germs i would think . I wouldn't drink from them unless they washed their mouth out . I never quite how my Daughter could kiss her sorry ass husband with a mouth full of tobacco .

About the couple shearing from one bowl . I see nothing wrong with it ....

Not only no......but Hell, no!!

yuk   germs

Amen, Rose!!

My ex's grandma, who was kind of a redneck anyway used to see something on OTHERS' plates and just take a forkful from ANYBODY's plate in a restaurant before you even knew what just happened....LOL!! It became legendary in a way.

My ex and I enjoyed the same foods but sometimes in  restaurant, we couldn't decide so we would each get an entrée and swap out half and half.

My daughter and I both LOVE sweet tea and don't like soda. So, if one of us sets a cup on the table, the other one takes a sip. Maybe that's gross but we've been doing it since she was LITTLE, it just has become automatic.

Chief....I'm not a Germaphobe (obviously.....LOL!!) but for some ODD reason, I have never and WILL NEVER myself eat straight out of a bag of chips. I have always put them in a bowl and put the bag away right away. NOT even the snack size chips. I have a collapsible bowl I keep in my purse.

I guess that way ya just eat one bowl full ....
