TBD on Ning

I worked for the City of Santa Barbara for about 15 years, for 12 of those years I commuted about 1/2 hour a little longer to downtown. Now that I'm retired I find what I missed most was the drive to work, ocean on one side mountains of the other.

How is your commute if still working, if retired do you miss the drive?

Picture is my commute to and from work.

That is one beautiful commute!  It takes me about a half an hour to get into work on the subway.  No chance of a view like that underground.  Sometime I drive into the office through town.  I do go by the Boston Garden and the Boston Common and skirt the edge of Beacon Hill with some really pretty townhouses, but still nothing to compare to the sights along your route.  I would miss that too.

I work in Home care so my scenery is often different. About 3 years ago, i moved from Tennessee to Pittsburgh and everywhere i drove in TENNESSEE, there was always rivers or mountains to pass...so much natural beauty so i REALLY  miss that. My commutes my various clients HERE have mostly been unimpressive but NOW i have no commute because i am a live in caregiver but going to run errands in the area, i enjoy the pretty houses and the area which is upper middle class to outright RICH! STILL....i would RATHER see Nature but this is good for now....

My last job was in the historic district of Savannah and I truly loved driving across the salt marshes of W ingot Island and through the historic squares of Savannah every day.

I drive 100 miles a day. The drive from where I live is beautiful (by Mt. Rainer) but the closer I get to work (Seattle area)is the pits. The roads here are horrible and the drivers worse.  No, I don't enjoy the drive...

I worked at the same place for about 16 yrs and it was just a generic drive, no spectacular scenery or anything other than crappy roads and sometimes  crazy drivers. I got a bad whiplash from being rear ended by a high school kid on his way to pick up his cap & gown one time. We moved 3 times during the time I worked there but the farthest commute was maybe 4 miles one way. When I was finally laid off I lived 1/4 mile away but had to drive about a mile due to the roads.

I had an ugly 1/2 hour drive to work. Don't miss it.

However, I do miss my sex drive

I miss my husband's!

Well, look what the cat drug in!!  I thought maybe you broke your foot or something 123!!!

That was last year. I'm now in Las Vegas and going broke at the blackjack table. Good thing I've lost most of my sex drive because I can barely afford a hooker......of course today is Valentines day and I've always been a romantic......so maybe I'll give it the old (real old) college try.

One thing about driving a lot.  You see some weird stuff.  And you learn to keep your doors locked. Sometimes I think theere are more panhandlers up here than people actually working. Hey uno, maybe be a new career????

I doubt if anyone would pay me for what I enjoy doing.

Good "point"
