TBD

TBD on Ning

Have any of you just chased a dream/goal and   "caught" it?

I'm thinking of doing that. I spent the weekend at my aunt's cottage on the water and with my aunt you can't casually mention ANYTHING without her being like a DOG WITH A BONE!! She knows I have always wanted to live in Ohio (again) and by the Lake (as in Lake Erie) so she points out all cottages either FOR SALE and she knows the inside scoop of who MIGHT be selling. I know quite a few people but EVERYONE knows my aunt so they will know me soon enough....LOL! Well, as I was leaving, one of my friends there took me to a restaurant on my way home. We had been jetskiing all day and were starved. Well....I ABSOLUTELY "fell in love" with this small town the restaurant was in. (Cottages are 20 minutes away in basically a "nothing" area....BUT...theres a LAKE so I was definitely considering it.) Well,  I half heartedley researched that town a little and found that it is VERY inexpensive rent wise to live there and I could easily get a job so I'm SERIOUSLY considering it. WHAT is holding me back? My dad, my (big) dog, my daughter, and my client. AND the "fear" that by relocating AGAIN, it will set me back financially like LAST time when I moved HERE!

Well, going up there again NEXT weekend and depending on how many days I have, I may take a half a day just walking around that town and trying to get a FEEL for it and what it would be like to live there.

i say do it...  of course, i say that to myself every day too...  but then "this, that and the other thing" keep getting in the way...  if i could actually define those "things" that would be 1/2 the battle but for now they are just "excuses" not "reasons".....

If I remember correctly, you are 47.  You have more than enough time to recoup any financial setbacks.  DO IT!  Bring all the things holding you back with you.  Sounds like everyone/thing would love it.

Kim, I say go for it if it's your dream make it come true if not now when?

Early in my adult hood after i got married . I envisioned moving to a better place in another state . When my Mom found out i was thinking about it . She would write thins on paper and lay them in my car . Words to make me feel guilty and not move . I resented that that she would do such a thing . I have had Dreams i so hoped to come true , always eluding me , us . Now at my age . Living on a fixed income and the threat of government wanting to snip at what i draw . It still eludes me . Only two things holding me back is Money and my Cousin that is my best friend .

I moved from Houston to Washington state knowing no one here when I was 47.  No regrets.  It was fun figuring things out by myself.  Would do it again in a heartbeat!!

I had dreams when I was a kid..not anymore.

flip, never quit dreaming.  It is good for the soul.

I pretty much did everything I wanted to do.now is bonus time.

Well, hell no one told me about bonus time!!!!   Tellme...what does that involve????

Free Sex Maybe.....

it's what you have left when you finish the game, after you did everything, collected all the hidden points and gold coins and still have time left over     no such thing as spare time,no such thing as down time,no such thing as free time, all you got is life time....oh,and bonus time.

One night I had a wondrous dream,
One set of footprints there was seen,
The footprints of my precious Lord,
But mine were not along the shore.
But then some stranger prints appeared,
And I asked the Lord," What have we here?"
Those prints are large and round and neat.
"But Lord, they are too big for feet."
"My child," He said in somber tones,
"For miles I carried you alone.
I challenged you to walk in faith,
But you refused and made me wait."
"You disobeyed, you would not grow,
The walk of faith, you would not know,
So I got tired, I got fed up.
And there I dropped you on your butt."
"Because in life, there comes a time,
When one must fight, and one must climb,
When one must rise and take a stand,
Or leave their butt prints in the sand."
