I was reading a historical book from the 1400's when the church blamed all men's impure desires on women. The only reason people were supposed to have sex was to procreate and only when married. Masterbation was considered sodomy according to the book I was reading. They really thought and taught that women were the cause.

No I don't think men are the cause of menopause and I think men are in charge of their own impure thoughts and impulses.

Here is another explanation of it. Writers just like to find a hook so the title above. It's much more complicated than that simplistic title suggests.

It is an interesting theory that really has little to do with men being the cause of menopause. Has much more to with the idea of evolution playing a part in the perpetuation of the human species.

I read Live Science and I remember reading about this idea a while back.

Sounds like a piece of c**p to me.  Animals mature much faster than humans.  They have less need for a mother.  Humans need mothering for several years.  Personally, I think Nature took pity on us women and gave  us a break after a certain amount of years.  If a man wants to be a daddy at 60......let him.  You couldn't pay me to start again. 

And, Tim, men may get blamed for a lot.....but not by Sigmund Freud.  He says mothers are to blame for everything,  My son says, "The Mothers of America" are too blame for all kinds of things.  Just ask him. 

And LIfesighs......the old teachings about women and their evil effects on men are still being taught......in the Muslim faith.  Hence, the covering of women....the refusal to let them go unaccompanied......the refusal to let them drive.....the honor killings of daughters who have disgraced the family.  My son says a Saudi man told him women were not allowed to wear high heels in Saudi Arabia, because the sound of the clicking of heels on the sidewalk was stimulating to men,  and hence, not allowed.  My dil had to wear a flak jacket in Iraq in 115 deg heat because it was offensive to the Iraqis to see a woman in a tee shirt. 

A judge in Wisconsin, years ago, ruled that a 4-yr-old girl had "enticed" her step-father into molesting her by crawling into his bed.  Go figure!!

I try to only go out with younger women. We have very little in common and nothing to talk about.

don't single out muslims as the only offenders on that score. look at the bible thumpers who preach that women have to be chaste and covered to control mens urges. guess that means some men just can't control their johnson. remember jim bakker and all the others who were caught and blamed the woman for their failure to follow their scriptural guidelines? or how bout the polygamist religious factions? ever wonder why they don't hear gawd say "hey boys she could use a couple hubbies cause after all you big strong men can go out and earn more to support the kids and you know she can do that multiple thing and you little peckerwoods can't"

Patriarchal societies, whether Muslim or the good ole boys in America or the military or the football teams in colleges, etc., all agree that women are the downfall of men.  But at least, unlike the Muslims who make their women wear burquas and sexually mutilate them and kill their daughter if they are raped, women have a say without worrying about death in the Jimmy Bakker world.  I think the Muslim countries, the extreme ones, are the worst, but it might not be the religion.  It might be the backward patriarchal cultures that misinterpret what is said in the Koran. The Saudis, the Taliban. One can't deny that they are the worst offenders.
