A Call

I got a call the other night from my Brother i hadn't seen in 3 years or more . He wanted to borrow 300 dollars and borrow my Truck to move somewhere 60 miles away . I just couldn't loan the 300 dollars that i had to live on . I also in good faith couldn't loan him my Beloved Truck either . If it got wrecked or torn up i can't get another . It has to last me till i can no longer drive . I had to refuse .

I feel bad not being able to help .

What do you think ?

Yes.....I have.  Your brother would've known you didn't have the $300 to lend him if he'd been around for the last 3 years!  But, in times of trouble, we turn to family when we have nowhere else to go.  I am sure you would have helped if you could, Wayne.  It would be wrong to put yourself in jeopardy by loaning money you can't afford and a truck that is irreplaceable.  My brother has borrowed from me twice, but he is always very good about paying me back.  And I live with a son who takes care of me, and so, therefore, I could see my way clear to part with a rather large loan.  We do what we can and after that.....offer help in some other way, maybe.  Or just pray for him.

i guess a lot would depend on how well you knew your brother .. is he the type to crack your truck up and say so sorry bye .. or would he make it up to you and make it a priority to do so ?? has he borrowed from you in the past and stiffed you ?? or always paid you when he said he would ?? personally i never loan money to anyone without some kinda repayment plan thats concrete .. banks wouldn't do it any other way , why should you or me .. cause if you get one of them i'll pay you back as soon as i can its way too open ended .. that means anytime between now and the day you or them die .. case in point you're drivin around town on tires that are so bald you're callin em kojacks and the fucktard you loaned 300 bucks to has just put new tires on his truck and bought a new 55 inch tv . and you been chasin him down for 9 months tryin to get your interest free 300 bucks back .. and all he can say is i told you i'd pay you as soon as i could .. makes you wanna jack up his truck and take them new tires and put em on your own truck and put them kojacks on his .. it really does ..

I get the impression that he doesn't live far from you, if that's true, then " haven't seen for 3 years" makes him more of an acquaintance then a brother.

Well money wise i get by and live month by months . I always pay my bills the day my disability check is deposited . The rest i know how much i can spend . Try to put a little back each month. Mainly because of my Med's .

My brother has always lived what i call a pathetic liar . It's like a dream world . It has gotten to the point of what is true and what is not . About 4 years ago i gave him a 88 ford van . I ended up giving him gas money to get it home . Most time when i would see him , he always asked if i had any money to spare . A couple months ago . He was at my Aunts home needing a little gas . She gave him what she had which he took gas can , never to return . I told her to let him have 20 dollars and i would send her the money to pay her back . The guilt trip does hurt and bug's me . Pay back , never happen ....
