Most are going to colonize Mars and look at it as just moving to a new location. It would be hard for me to go and leave family and friends behind knowing I would probably never see them again. I don't know if I would have the courage to do it but to some, it is no different than the pilgrims leaving Europe and traveling for months by boat to come to America.
