The big-as 1/2 a football field and heavier than an aircraft carrier asteroid, 2012 DA14 (can't it have a sexier name?), is due for a fly-by February 15th. If you live in Europe you should be able to see it in the night sky in London from 6PM to 9AM the next day -- if you know where to look. They promise us a rim shot, not a slam dunk (in Australia), but I still remember how well NASA calculated the orbit for their Mars Climate Orbiter. What, me nervous?
Well as long as it stays its course we might be safe I guess. But will it? Who figures that out?
We will by February 16th ...
Great Balls of Fire...!
Literally LOL ....
