Located in Corpus Christi on the middle of the Texas coast, the Texas State Aquarium attracts over 500,000 visitors each year (and educates over 60,000 children each year through a variety of educational camps and programs). Designated as the “Official Aquarium of Texas,” the Texas State Aquarium provides both educational and entertaining experiences for those who walk through its doors.
The Aquarium has a vast array of displays housing fish which are indigenous to the Gulf of Mexico, as well as a few exotic species. There is a full slate of daily programs, including: You “Otter” Know This; Dolphin Presentations; Dive Encounters; Reptile Report; Birds of Prey; and much more. There are also a number of special events throughout the year and several educational programs, including the popular Sea Camp and Sea Squirt programs.

In the spring of '06, the Living Shores exhibit was added. This interactive exhibit showcases the Laguna Madre - the elongated bay system which runs from Corpus Christi south. This exhibit houses the largest "touch pool" in the aquarium.
