TBD

TBD on Ning

I'm on my way to the Wshington, DC area. Northern Virginia actually. Happy and I are currently in a motel near Savannah, GA watching the Weather Channel. Boy, Are they milking this one. 12" to 24" of snow predicted for DC. I'm sure all the grocery stores are loving it. Hey! We are going to be snowed in for a month. Lets go to the Safeway and fight for milk and bread. Oh, and beer. Can't be snowed in without beer.

Ok, Let's play a game. Lets predict how many inches of snow DC actually gets.

I predict 6 inches.

And the closer you get to DC, the more panic-stricken they act!

I say 4" and it will all be gone by Monday.
Hi Robbie, I just checked AOL's weather for DC. Can't swear for sure, but they have been pretty accurate in the past for my local weather. According to them, there is approx. 20 inches coming in the next 2 days. Hope they are wrong, do they make snow tires for RV's??
All that really matters, Robbie, is beer and/or wine, coffee, and enough food to take care of your pets. Oh and maybe a pizza or two. :)
Urbangal, Where you been? This is the first post from you in months. Welcome back.
TBubba. I left the RV in Florida. I'm going to stay with family. RVs aren't meant for cold weather.
I have to take mine to Key West every year or it doesn't feel loved.
I am suppose to get 6 to 8 inches by sunday morning. The sad thing is--this storm is coming on the last biggest Christmas shopping weekend of the season! Lord--we couldn't do this like Monday--or tuesday?
Hey!!! Tue. is my Christmas shopping day. Gives me an excuse for my pathetic gift picking abilities. "I wanted to get you something a lot nicer, but due to the snow I didn't get to the ------ in time, and all the good----- were gone".
It has just started to snow. I have lived through over 20 yrs of this fake stuff---6 to 8 inches---they act like they have never seen snow--the rd will be clear--crap
However, I do remember one year in Harpers Ferry, I think 83 or 84, we had 36" in our back yard. Had to use the 4 wheel drive Subaru to make emergency food and beer runs for the neighborhood.
Having lived in many places that gets lots of snow, including Colorado and the Bravarian Alps(none that compare to Buffalo) I always had trouble understanding the snow panic of DC. However, DC has such a mix of drivers that there is no such thing as normal reaction to snow. The drivers in DC range from people who have never seen snow before, to diplomats from Siberia. You put them all on the road together it is sure disaster.
10.2"

I could use a little sympathy please, looks like we may get 1 to 2 inches here in East Ohio/Northwest PA.
It'll get whatever Jim Cantore sez it gets!
OK---I am snowed in---20 inches of snow on the ground 45 minutes from DC and I hear it is worse down there. This one was for real I can not even find my car--holy crap
