A mammal, also know as a sea cow. Large, aquatic and herbivore known for it size and slow movement, the manatee has also be attributed as being the source of the stories of mermaids. And of course, those stories were from sailors long at sea and subject to bad rations, rum and too much sun. But overall a harmless creature that has been challenge by the invasion of many of its habits by man and machines, particularly speed boats.

Of course, little could such a creature be conceive of making an aspersion of what a woman's body size and image with which it could compared.  And yes, it also takes a high level of sensitivity to the subject.

Target stores recent provide its online customers of women's plus sizes an option of a coverall dress that would come in Manatee gray. And yes, it was a description of color not size that got the attention of those that asked what Target was conceiving as to being flattering and attractive to women of a certain size.

Of course there is always a question of what is and what is not meant by a number of expressions one finds in all sorts of places, and particularly those that describe what is thought of as otherwise delicate and insensitive.

However, if it suits the beholder, then wear it, or not.
