Safe place to live?  With the millions of homeless in China, it's scarcely living at all.  I wouldn't want to live with the NPC and their nebulous censorship laws, no academic freedom, freedom of religion (as long as it's one of the sanctioned five) and the elitist party land grabbing all for the 'benefit of weiwen'.

Look at it this way, darroll - FOX runs stuff like that NOT just for the prurient value, although that is one of their biggest reasons. FOX ran that story AS MUCH because it subliminally endorses the idea of criminals as being subhuman scum and undeserving of our justice system.

 

I'm not approving of what the guy did that got him into a situation where blowing his own head off seemed to be his only option - But FOX treating it as juicy THEATER smacks of the Romans, the christians and the lions - And you, darroll, are the Roman.

The whole episode was an accident. It was unraveling so fast that no one had time to push the sneeze button.

Why are we so behind the rest of the world? They show the news and don’t censor it because someone might see reality.

If they fry some mass killer and show it on TV would this be a deterrent? (to me anyway).

If I would of known that guy would of taken his own life, I would of turned it off. I do think the people that want to see reality TV would of watched it.
