TBD

TBD on Ning

So here we are looking around, taking a peek... hanging out.

On some thread a bit ago, some one said how annoying the FB was with all the trivial updating goings on.

Personally, I don't think my daily updating is all that interesting but some times I really feel the need to share.  My kitties don't give a whit and the bird...well, he lives in his own world.  His updates would mostly involve "lived another day"..."got some of that shredded stuff again (cheese)"  etc.

Mostly, I have you fine folks to droll on about my meager existence and occasional moments of wonderful.

So, here you go...Keep it brief...mundane with a bit of intrigue.

A group of 15 year old boys discussed where they should meet for dinner. It was agreed they would meet at the McDonald's next to Captain Jack's Seafood Grille because they only had six dollars among them, they could ride their bikes, and that cute girl in Social Studies lives on the same street and they might see her.

Ten years later, the group of now 25 year old guys discussed where they should meet for dinner. It was agreed they would meet at Captain Jack's Seafood
Grille because the beer was cheap, the bar had free snacks, the house band was good, there was no cover charge and there were lot of cute girls.

Ten years later, at 35 years of age, the group discussed where they should meet for dinner. It was decided they would meet at Captain Jack's Seafood Grille because the booze was good, it was near their gym and, if they went late enough, there wouldn't be too many whiny little kids.

Ten years later, at 45, the group discussed where they should meet for dinner. It was agreed they would meet at Captain Jack's Seafood Grille because the martinis were big and the waitresses wore tight pants.

Ten years later, now 55, the group discussed where they should meet for dinner. It was agreed they would meet at Capt. Jack's Seafood Grille because the prices were reasonable, they have a nice wine list and fish is good for your cholesterol.

Ten years later, at 65 years of age, the group discussed where they should meet for dinner. It was agreed they would meet at Captain Jack's Seafood Grille because the lighting was good and they have an early bird special.

Ten years later, at 75 years of age, the group discussed where they should meet for dinner. It was agreed they would meet at Capt. Jack's Seafood Grille because
the food was not too spicy and the restaurant was handicapped accessible.

Ten years later, at 85 years of age, the group discussed where they should meet for dinner. It was agreed they would meet at Captain Jack's Seafood Grille because they had never been there before.

I am finally pretty much back to normal after Sunday's ice storm. The electricity came back on yesterday morning at about 9:30. It took the house several hours to get back to the regular temperature. Even then some things like dishes and counter tops were ice cold. At least my water pipes didn't freeze.
The cable came back last night but the internet just came back on this morning. Good thing I have watched a lot of Little House on the Prairie. I sort of new what to do.

Glad to know the power is back on and that you are safe!

Robin, rocks, always has, and probably always will.

Got the results of the CT scan. Fluid build up around the left kidney, (which I already knew from the ultrasound) The CT did pinpoint an area of the bladder that is abnormal. I'm pretty sure when I get to see the urologist on the 11th, I'm gonna get scoped, bladder wall biopsied, and a stent placed between my kidney and my bladder.

Good news is that I just had blood work done by my oncologist, so bladder cancer is probably not the cause.

Bad news, today, I went from discomfort to real pain. I know, I know, but right now I have 4 beers, a couple shots of vodka, and a pain pill in my system. Felt pretty good for a while, but the pain is coming back.

Got the results from the biopsy, and it ain't good. Stage 3 bladder cancer. Urologist scheduled a bone scan and a chest x-ray for tomorrow so he can have the results on Fri., when I see him. I told my oncologist today what he scheduled, and said to go ahead and let him do it, but she wants to do a PET scan next Wed. She also scheduled an MRI of my brain cause Dee told her that I've been confused lately. Did I tell you that Dee said I've been confused lately? The PET scan will tell whether the cancer has spread to other parts of my body. I'm not sure what the plan will be if it has spread. As it stands right now, if the cancer is localized in the bladder, I will start chemo, (damn, just started letting my hair grow out again, and I can't imagine what I going to look like bald and no beard!) and after the chemo the bladder is going to have to be removed. Ain't that a pisser.

Bone scan today and a chest x-ray. See the urologist tomorrow. Think I'm gonna ask for a second opinion about removing my bladder.

A second and even third opinion is a good thing. I'm hoping for a miracle for you today Tee, might happen.

I'm hoping for one too Lifesighs!!!
