‘Never give up’: A poem by the Dalai Lama

”No matter what is going on
Never give up
Develop the heart
Too much energy in your country
Is spent developing the mind
Instead of the heart
Be compassionate
Not just to your friends
But to everyone
Be compassionate
Work for peace
In your heart and in the world
Work for peace
And I say again
Never give up
No matter what is going on around you
Never give up. »

Emmett, Stumbled across your Browning photos today, absolutely amazing! My Dad was in WWII, had he still been will us he would have loved seeing these, I'm sure. Thank you so very much for sharing! Just two months I gave my paternal grandmother's Browning to a friend whose father collects old cameras. Never thought to check if for film! Thanks again.

The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realize their relationship, their oneness, with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells Wakan-Taka (the Great Spirit), and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us.
This is the real peace, and the others are but reflections of this. The second peace is that which is made between two individuals, and the third is that which is made between two nations. But above all you should understand that there can never be peace between nations until there is known that true peace, which, as I have often said, is within the souls of men.
