Also put a half dollar into a 8 oz coke. He could cut a pencil in two
with a dollar bill. Roll a cigarette with one hand, smoke it down and throw
it over his back and kick it back up in the air without even looking.
His rope tricks are hard to describe, however he would swirl a looped rope
in a horizontal and vertical plane, and jump inside and outside, up and down
during the swirling motion.

So....What tricks run in your families?

Washington, DC Metro Station on a cold January morning in 2007. The man with a violin played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time approximately. 2 thousand people went through the station, most of them on their way to work. After 3 minutes a middle aged man noticed there was a musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds and then hurried to meet his schedule.

4 minutes later:

The violinist received his first dollar: a woman threw the money in the hat and, without stopping, continued to walk.

6 minutes:

A young man leaned against the wall to listen to him, then looked at his watch and started to walk again.

10 minutes:

A 3-year old boy stopped but his mother tugged him along hurriedly. The kid stopped to look at the violinist again, but the mother pushed hard and the child continued to walk, turning his head all the time. This action was repeated by several other children. Every parent, without exception, forced their children to move on quickly.

45 minutes:

The musician played continuously. Only 6 people stopped and listened for a short while. About 20 gave money but continued to walk at their normal pace. The man collected a total of $32.

1 hour:

He finished playing and silence took over. No one noticed. No one applauded, nor was there any recognition.

No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the greatest musicians in the world. He played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, with a violin worth $3.5 million dollars. Two days before Joshua Bell sold out a theater in Boston where the seats averaged $100.

This is a true story. Joshua Bell playing incognito in the metro station was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment about perception, taste and people’s priorities.

The questions raised:

*In a common place environment at an inappropriate hour, do we perceive beauty?

*Do we stop to appreciate it?

*Do we recognize talent in an unexpected context?

One possible conclusion reached from this experiment could be this:

If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world, playing some of the finest music ever written, with one of the most beautiful instruments ever made.

How many other things are we missing?Anti-socialtag:teebeedee.ning.com,2010-01-24:1991841:BlogPost:7647182010-01-24T04:30:00.000Zcaseyjohttps://teebeedee.ning.com/profile/caseyjo

Researchers who carried out "tickling sessions" on gorillas, chimpanzees and orangutans, believe that it started out as a "grunt-like" noise with our distant ancestors and gradually turned into the more sophisticated chuckles and guffaws we know today.

They made the assertions published in the journal of Current Biology after finding that the evolution of laughter almost exactly mirrors genetic evolution.

Our closest relatives, the chimp and the bonobo, have the closest laugh to ours, with more distant cousins - gorillas and orangutans - less similar.

Dr Marina Davila Ross said the research seemed to prove not only that great apes do laugh like us but that the act itself was "hardwired into humans" by a distant ancestor.

"Our results on laughter indicate its prehuman basis," she said. "It is likely that great apes use laughter sounds to interact in similar ways to humans.

"This is important for emotional research in humans and animals as well as for the management of primates in captivity and in the wild."

Dr Davila Ross and her team at the University of Portsmouth took more than 800 acoustic recordings from 22 juvenile and infant apes and three human babies while their palms, feet, necks and armpits were being tickled.

They then compared the sounds and discovered links between the two – as well as the evolutionary trail from the most primitive apes to humans.

The study proves that laughter evolved gradually over the last 10 to 16 million years of primate evolutionary history, the researchers said.

Human laughter is nonetheless clearly distinct from the laughter of great apes because evolutionary changes have been more rapid in the last 5 million years, it said.
I just returned from having a very long talk with my very spiritual, but non-religious friend. We talked about all kinds of things...Then I asked her what she thought about the end of the world.....She looked at me and said..."What do you mean?"...I said "you know what the religious are talking about..God preparing for the end". I just returned from having a very long talk with my very spiritual, but non-religious friend. We talked about all kinds of things...Then I asked her what she thought about the end of the world.....She looked at me and said..."What do you mean?"...I said "you know what the religious are talking about..God preparing for the end". She stopped me dead in my tracks and told me to stop reading that stuff and to stay away from people who spread it. She said it is negative and a bunch of silly nonsense. People spread it because they are full of fear. She said that is why they call the people God-fearing, instead of God Loving.

She asked me if I knew any people who act just like Jesus...I told her no I didn't. She said "That should tell you everything you need to know". Then I went on to tell her my cancer level is going up a point every time I get a blood test. At the rate it is going up I might be back on chemo/add radiation by the end of this new year. Then she really let me have it..Told me it was all the negative stuff I have been reading....I told her it was only curiosity, but it is much more than that...I was developing a real fear..a huge fear of all religious people and fear of having to see a third world war...What I didn't tell my neighbor is I had decided not to fight for my life if the cancer came back..That I was not going to take the therapy offered...Not because I do not want to live, but because I am afraid of war..i do not want to see people die.....She went on to tell me about her very religious mother who believed the world was going to end back in 1999 so she did not fight for her life and died in 2000...She believes if her mother had not been religious, she would still be alive today.

All my life I lived mostly in the present. Yes, I had little goals etc when I was younger, but for the most part I lived in the day I was in. I was not brought up by religious folks having had a atheist father, and my Mom did not teach us about God. I never knew God existed because I could not see him. I never asked myself who made me because I believed what my dad told me..That there was no power greater than myself.

The reason I am writing this is because I have let negative ideas of people who (I believe)are actually looking forward to the end of the world (and are actually trying to make it happen) affect my good feeling about life to the point I would turn down Chemo and die....That's really bad...Let me get this straight..It is not the religion or God that disturbs me ( I am a humanist). It is the thought of war which I cannot stand. Just the opposite of many who seem to be excited about the end of the world, I never thought about bad stuff like that..It was all just science fiction because none of us know the future...we only speculate...Anyway, to get back to my own positive lifestyle I will be shutting out the negative best I can....It can kill a person, or make them make very unwise decisions....If I would have told my good friend my plans to not accept chemo, she would have rang my neck......PS..Lets see what happens..maybe by passing by the negative my CA125 level may go back down...wouldn't that be great....KHow to end all wartag:teebeedee.ning.com,2010-01-09:1991841:BlogPost:7322912010-01-09T16:57:58.000Zcaseyjohttps://teebeedee.ning.com/profile/caseyjo

It is a major control thing that happens around here. I mean you can call someone crazy as a run over dog, you can call them rats, dogs, idiots, morons, etc, etc, etc, but if you call them a ape or anything that resembles a ape, it is very bothersome and tabu for many members.

So...Please do not call tbd members apes or anything that majorly resemble or act just like tbd members.....Thanks....K
