DON'T LET THIS GUY NEAR YOU WITH LATEX GLOVES ON...

  • Angharad

    HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Actually, he's the real Patch Adams. Man, I wish his form of medicine would have caught on. Laughter truly is the best medicine and I, for one, loved it when one of my surgeons came in for his pre-surgery consult wearing those dark glasses with the swirly, psychedelic eyes. He laughed harder than I did when I acted as though everything was perfectly normal as he groped along trying to find my arm to take my  pulse...

  • Angharad

I so TOTALLY get that! I, too, like to be a source of joy in people's lives. That's why so very few people know my real story on TBD, which involves more than one, what DD and I laughingly call, COLOSSAL DISASTER (ask DD to say it the way we do--tee-hee)!

And, hey, Bruddah, dat is a mix of good and bad news. Still, the BEST news is no metastasis to bones or lungs because, as I'm sure you know, those are the two areas outside the bladder wall where bladder cancer usually spreads first. This makes it a whole lot less likely that the PET scan will show anything new, as long as the tumor in your bladder is the primary tumor.

    HUZZAH for that!!!!!!!!!!!

The bad news is a major drag, but there are still options to explore.

Are you sure you don't want this ol' honey badger to nibble the universe's ass a little? Lemme see if I can convince it to stop making things so goldurn complicated!!!

    XOXOXOXOXOX  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • Angharad

Peaceful, golden vibrations all around and through you today, D.

    <3 <3 <3

  • Angharad

I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy about your PET scan and MRI, D.!!! I know you and Dee have sighed one big sigh of relief, and I hope you're taking the weekend to just relax and enjoy yourselves before the push begins.

Now you have possibilities to investigate! There are many protocols out there for treating stage III bladder cancer, and while most include surgery, not all do. If you have the energy and are so inclined, now is the time for a second opinion. I'd probably, at least, contact your oncologist and radiologist from Cleveland--they know you best. If you're happy with and confident in your present docs then, of course, there's no need to look farther if it just seems like too much to deal with.

As someone who has had so much radiation over so long that I glow in the dark :>), I'll keep all appendages crossed that they clear you for more. There is targeted radiation for bladder cancer which can limit collateral cell damage--so that's good.

HUGS AND KISSES to you and your beautiful wife. Me and my friends and acquaintances are ramping up the good vibes. <3 <3 <3

I'm lax about visiting the site, but it doesn't mean I'm not concerned that you are okay. Sincerely hoping all works out the best way possible.

This is such a laid back version of the song. Takes me back, and Zens me right out. I thought you might want to turn the lights low, light up whatever you've got, and zooooooooooooone. :>)

    XOXOXOXOX A.

  • Angharad

Love it, BubbaBaby! I'm also partial to Richard Thompson's cover. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQwUnJ_B9fc

  • Angharad

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh yeah...off of Easy Does It. Haven't heard that album since the 70s. GREAT keyboards. Now you've got me listening to Al. :>)

  • Angharad

Geez, I hadn't listened to the Human Beinz in decades! Cool you lived near Belley. I always loved their classic cover of the Isley's tune...

And I can't think of a much odder place to get entertained for an hour by Keaggy than at a Volkswagen dealership--talk about good karma! I thought Keaggy has disappeared down the gullet of Christian music, but if his take on "John The Revelator" is how he's been doin' it, then Hallelujah!!!!

BTW, you is beautimous, TeeBub, facial hair or no...

  • Angharad

Believe it or not, I can't remember hearing "I Had To Shoot That Rabbit." That doesn't mean I didn't hear it--it just means my memory SUCKS!

While this wasn't a protest song per se, my Special Forces boyfriend used to play it all the time after he got home. I think he related to the whole "watchtower" thang being that he was always on the fringes of operations. Man, he was one hurt dude after Vietnam. He definitely had PTSD, although they didn't have a name for it then. He didn't talk much about what he did until one night he told me a horrific story, then wept in my arms for an hour. After that, I deeply understood why he had changed so profoundly...

    XOXOXOXOX me

It may be jumping the gun on the status of the tumor, but I'm going for a preemptive "HOOOOOOOORAAAAAAAAAAAAAY"

(I'd love to see a picture of the Hendrix album, Tee--I know the album, but I don't think I ever saw the picture disc. I used to adore those things...)

    XOXOXOXOXOXOX

  • Angharad

Sorry to hear about that damned stubborn tumor, Tee. I wanna kick it's resistant little ass!

Try to take a time out from the worries and just relax tomorrow. Have some 4th of July strawberry shortcake, if you can stomach it, crank up the A/C, and kick back on the couch with good tunes. It always helps me to give myself an official holiday from the job of having cancer.

    Love you, Bubba.

  • Angharad

Hey, Tee! I'm so happy to hear your brother's there! Especially if you haven't seen him in years...

I agree, you can't give up important experiences just to tow the line. In the years I had therapy (I glow in the dark :>) ), I skipped a few treatments too.

Now I have to NAG!!!!  Hahahahaha!

Knock steins, but be sure not to overdo the suds. You can end up with some pretty unpleasant side effects.

There--I got my mom on. Now I feel better. :>)

Have fun this week, Bubba Baby!!!

    Keep it up!!!

    XOXOXOXOXOX

  • Angharad

COOL, Bubba!!!! Thank you so much for telling me. The smile on your face is most important, but I'm so VERY happy that others got a kick out of the sentiment and your fabulous way of presenting it. Wooowhoooo!

I can't tell you how proud and happy I am about the way you prepared, mentally and physically, for surgery, and about how hard you've worked at recovery! You're certainly doing your part for this wonderful outcome.

    HUGS AND KISSES!!!!

I was so certain everything was going to be okay. HOOOOOOORRRRAAAAY for all the good news!!!!

Please give DeeBubbaTee a HUGE hug for me!!! She had a rough time but, even so, she kept us all posted. How wonderful of her! And her mighty love for you definitely helped keep you safe. She deserves all the best.

Love and best wishes for a continued quick recovery!!!!

    XOXOXOXOXOXOXOX A.

  • Angharad

And I'm sorry back, Bubba~I've been out of commission for a while.

How did your doctor's appointment go? Healing well? Pesky drain gone (I know what a pain they are)? Any other news?

How are you feeling? Has the fever been resolved? I've had unexplained fevers, and sometimes they stay unexplained; but what matters is to get that sucker gone.:>)

I am SO happy that you can start getting on with your life!!!!! I pray that you feel better and better every day!

    XOXOXOXOXOXOX

  • Angharad

Wow! Fantastic, Bubba! Looks like everything is moving along really fast and well! I knew you were the miracle boy! HOORAY!!!

I so glad to hear the pouch is holding, and that it's not a major pain to cath. Yeah, I'm sure the process will speed up with repetition. The schedule and the staying awake isn't so great; but, hopefully, the time between cathings will increase with time, and maybe your doc has some recommendations about how to get back to sleep. It must be a common problem at first.

On the happy side, you can send me messages in the middle of the night! Hahaha! I'm usually awake all night, so I'll just begin checking here more frequently.

We can say all kinds of naughty things. :>)

Bubba Baby, you're entitled to a little bitching and whining--you've done GOOD!!!

My love to you and the magnificent Mrs. Bubba. (I hope life is less stressful for her with a daughterless home and you doing so well!)

    XOXOXOXOX

RATS!!! I thought he was tweaking my nipples...
