I'm always late to these things.

Happy Birthday Snagg, I'm glad someone mentioned it in one of the threads. I'm going to have to look at the main page more. Have a great one!

Yep, Read that book many, many years ago. I actually think it was Stienbeck's best work. (:>) But, I think Happy will just remain Happy. At least as long as there are deer to chase, things to bark at, things to piss on, and attractive girls to make over him.

I don't know, would Grover Cleveland wear a clown nose? ;-)
  • ZenDog

me either. Doesn't seem fair really, I mean after all, it is such an effort . . . .
  • J Lee S

  • Quinn

    Hey Abe...how goes it?
We're on for this Sunday? I need to add something decent to my Halloween "Playlist" :-)
  • Jack313

Hey, Bro! Sorry I haven't gotten back to you till now. I've been buried in my second novel, and only breezin' through Facebook from time to time to check up on my nieces and nephews. Other than that, haven't done any social networking. I got burned out on the debate scene, too. I'll check in here more often. Feel free to drop me an e-mail, if you still have my address. I'll dig yours up and drop you a note, too. I hope all's well!

Can't pick just one...and "Psycho" would be too obvious :-)
I really liked Marianne Faithful doing "Annabell Lee"
I'm a bit of a Donovan fan and "Season of the Witch" is a great song.
"Halloween on the Barbary Coast" was good as was "Paris 1919".
O, wait, I will pick a favorite-- "Zombie Jamboree" was fun! I'm picking that!
  • Quinn

    HAPPY HALLOWEEN

  • Ubu

Thanks for the thoughts. I appreciate it.

This is the song that ran through my head driving into town -In Heaven by the Pixies.

In A low and gruff voice, she says, "Now this is the manly way to say goodnight" (hehe)

  • funesthememorious

The person above me ( that would be you ) generates more jocularity than a tag team wrestling match of Jello Biafra and Henry Rollins versus Donnie and Marie Osmond.

    Be kinder than necessary

  • Quinn

No famous birthdays? For shame young man! Three of my favorite childhood authors were born on this day…Louisa May Alcott [Little Women], Madeline L’Engle [A Wrinkle In Time], and C.S. Lewis of Narnia fame. No songs written by or about them I guess :-)
No tribute to Jon Knight of New Kids On The Block ? [thankyouthankyouthankyou]

Lucinda Williams is lovely. Sounds wonderful. I don't mind Norah Jones version either. Her voice could swing me to the other side of the fence.
