I'm an artist and transplant from the South (Florida, Georgia, Texas) I teach film theory and German and I am happily partnered with an introverted chess player. My Dad was from Chicago (A Czech from Berwyn). I return periodically to say Yak se mac to my relatives. My Mom is a native Texan and fabulous painter. I love to travel. I've lived in Japan, Australia, Munich and traveled around New Zealand, Mexico, Asia and most of Europe. I garden, do photography and work on mixed media artistic projects (everything from fiber to mosaics, painting to sculpture. I love camping and hiking but my spousal unit loves the quiet contemplative life at home. I'm always up for a polite and stimulating political or philosophical discussion!
Hi WS,
First off love your photo shots that are flashing above so soothing I never really took much time finding what works or doesnt as far as flowers or plants go I like to just give everything a chance as long as I find them visiualy beautiful at the time I buy them I just plant them I know this isnt such a great way to have a garden but sometimes I do amaze myself with this practice lol..love ya lynn53
Tanker is 11. His hips are deteriorating. It is difficult to see him going down hill so quickly.
I always crated my dogs when I left the house until they were past that stage. I still crate them at night. They expect it and feel safe.
However, Tanker hated being in a crate and busted out of a metal crate with his giant head. Amazingly strong.
I got him because I wanted a big dog. I wanted a mastiff and my husband (now ex) told me that I could not have that big of a dog, so when he went out of town, I got Tanker. Tanker ended up being only 115 lbs. My ex traveled a lot and the kids and I were alone frequently. I felt safer with Tanker.
Tanker was very easy to train. I think I was lucky. My brother in law has English Bulldogs and they attack brooms and stuff like that. Tanker never did that.
You wrote on film. What did you write about related to film?
My dissertation is about reading but actually focusing in on the teacher. I will be looking at new teachers and how they use the knowledge that they learn in college and see how it transfers to the classroom (or if it even transfers to the classroom).
Thank you SO much for joining For Women Only and for posting such an important discussion question. I've featured it, and hope we have more member responses. It is wonderful to have your participation and support . . .
Thank you, and you too. Greatpage, well designed, beautiful colors! I see you are an amazing photographer/artist, and you can crochet and knit, as well. I used to, until my eyes went. Be well.
Okinawa? Wow...cool. Work or pleasure? I found the Einstein online a long time ago when I was researching something. The Artist has a website with a few cool layouts I used to use for Myspace, and he is a writer. I asked for permission to use his Einstein and he said yes I could use it where ever I want, but if I wouldn't mind to give him credit. I forgot his name right now ( It's been a while) but I will find it. ...So...Long time no see. You must be busy?
Hi there! I'm Gregg's fiance! This message is from Gregg-- he asked me to tell you that he was thinking of you and hopes you are well. He is without access to a computer until I get there! He hopes to be online soon. He's not very happy being without his friends so long. Have a great day!
Welcome home! I love the Japan pictures! I used to live in Okinawa when I was little. We must talk - and please share with us in FWO - I stated a "travel" discussion!
WS, I've never been to Okinawa. I had orders to go there in the summer of 69, but I transferred from the Air Force to the Army and got sent to Turkey instead.
I'm currently at my land (Farm) in WV trying to get my credit card and my Fed Income Tax paid down.
My official address is now Livingston, TX But It is too hot there. I'm back in WV sitting on my farm where I don't have to pay anything to sit. However, I'm bored. As soon as the credit card and Income tax payments are made(probably by Oct. I'll be back on the road.
Things going well I trust. You might find this ammusing.
"particularly the green and purple ones - one with the undead standing in particular."
I'm colorblind. Not totally but few people are, that are. Everything I do is intuitive. In some progams I can just use hexi decimal color codes.
3-D texture programs, not so much. So you say I've used green and purple..
hmm, interesting, I was probably aiming for grey and blue.
"Also got a giggle about the ad on your Night Terror web site: (here's a screen shot) If you can see it the ads about sleep apnea!"
I uderstand why the robots put the Ad there. "Night Terrors" generally refers to the sleeping disorder, which, by the way, people used to claim were vampire attacks (a couple of hundred years ago of course). So the
robot thinks it's a site about sleep disorders, It might just be.
"New picture - what were you looking at when it was taken? "
I have no clue. Every picture I have of myself are candid shots.
I refer to them as surveillance footage for that very reason.
As in, this is what I look like when someone's trying to build a case.
In this one it was the fourth of July and I ended up with somebody's
two year old on my lap (edited out).
Wish I had known. I was off route 50 between Clarksburg and Parkersburg. One of the other TBD ers Came through the area and I met them at a diner on RT 50. I'm probably heading for Livingston, TX next week.
Yeh, Thats a bummer, There is a diner on Rt. 50 about 12 miles from my farm. I could have met you there. I did meet another tbder there as she went through the area. Maybe next summer. I'm in the Atlanta, GA area now, headed for Livingston next week. You girls have fun in Vegas. I'll be looking in that section of USA Today that tells the scandals in each state to see if you make the news.
Chopping wood huh? Boy, I did that all my childhood and young adulthood on the family homestead here in Alaska. It was also dad's antidote for misbehavior. Can you split a piece of cooked spaghetti lengthwise down the middle:)?

Ms WS,
You have experience on both the original board and on this board. If you could "tell me where to go?" [Gentle humour!] I would appreciate it.
In other words, where on the venue do I go in order to set up a group?
Could I ask you questions on what to do, if and only if after reading the tutoring and instructions I am stumped as to how to proceed?
In other words would you act as a mentor and suggest the places where solutions might be?

Good luck with your puppy. He will be a chewing beast. You will have to have great patience and great love. The good news, he will grow out of it!!!!
