Me. Married. Mother. TBD-er, Twitter Tweeter & FB-er from Missouri. I am a torchlighter for the United Way, also a board member with the Lupus Foundation, Heartland Chapter. Married for 29 years to Mark, a creative director, graced with an abundance of Irish charm. My daughter, Lauren, is a beautiful, wise, old soul. My bright, blogger son, Jason, and innovative daughter(-in-law), Amanda, recently celebrated their very 1st anniversary in Chicago, where they are building a life together. Two cats, Asher & Cinderella (because they look like they sleep in a fireplace), also make up our home, along with my very lovable service dog, Elliot, a yellow lab. I have lupus and he helps me in many ways. His very favorite job is to remind me I cannot sing, and should never try inside the car. ___________________________________________________________________ "This Is What Lupus Looks Like" video by L.A. Lupus Lady (submitted by Lynda Michelson & Elliot) by Lynda Michelson on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 7:01pm Recently a Facebook-Twitter friend contacted me about participating in a lupus video she was putting together. I was honored to be asked, and sent her the requested pictures of myself with my service dog, Elliot. Please enjoy the video and pass it along to your friends. Thank you, Lynda & Elliot P.S. Yea, Lynda, I guess we are the only ones not signed up for the Sex Talk group...I would be too embarrassed to talk about such a private issue in an open forum.
Hey lady!I've been posting and replying on LOL asylum,a lot of the old members are posting. The rest of the groups I,m on are real slow. They take a while to get responses.Dark hair has started to post on LOL also.At least play word association on LOL.If I don't have my Jewish mother to watch over me I may end up in one of those sex groups!!!
I know what you mean Lynda but don't beat yourself up about allowing abuse in your life. I don't think you chose that but you felt compelled to enable it. This is very common. It's tough to face the abuse and the abuser so people enable and deny.
OMG Lynda how horrible for you. My worst memories are being beaten with a belt when I was a kid but that was easy to get over. I just turned myself into a rebel which was easy in the sixties. My father never did the beating but he handed my mother the belt. Oddly enough I got my politics from my mom. At least I have that to thank her for. LOL
Lynda, May your day be filled with tenderness, kindness and love. May your body know freedom from discomfort, pain and even fatigue. May your heart be light and know no amount of fear not even for a second, and Lynda, May you know that you have overcome and survived so much in this life that no one can destroy you now, no one ever....My heart and my spirit are with you. You know how to find me, Blessings Lynda, what spirit and courage you have. Tina
As far as what to read to understand the Beat Generation. I would start with "On the Road" and "The Dharma Bums". Give "Naked Lunch" a try. And, on the group board read "Howl" and "Bomb". Those are a good start.
Thank you for joining my group ! Please also consider joining my good friends group http://teebeedee.ning.com/group/womenoftbd for all those man/woman relationship quandaries you might have! We cross pollinate! Here's to being
Lynda,
You have a beautiful page, with a beautiful story,
Your lab lokks like mine, only a litle whiter, and is funny the way it sits!
Lupus is not easy, but I admire your courage and attitude.
Hugs!!

You are such an inspiration to everyone! You and your family have been through
a lot but still keep going strong and inspiring others. Good for you! All the info on here is sure to help many others. God bless you & your family. I'm looking forward to getting to know you even better. Your friend, Donna
I just got through reading this page, and I am amazed at Eliot, and also at your wonderful family. Mostly, I am amazed with you. You seem to do very welll with your lupus, even with help. I have fibromyalgia and CFIDS, and 2 damaged knees, and somedays it's a chore just to get around. You're an inspiration. Best wishes to you, Lynda! -Raelein
thanks, Lynda. I have been lying fallow in Tier II for the last few days. I have had not much confidence lately. However, your first effort was pretty nice. I encourage you.
I like your dog. I had a black lab mix, JD, who was sort of goofy, ate Brussel's sprouts, and died when he was 14. I miss the old silly.
Possibly, we could be friends.
yes...that old hippy attitude....not so bad...I love peace, and I just wish everybody else did...unfortunately...there are some crazies in the world...just one can ruin it all for us.....damx it.
