The right hip started acting up in the fall...progressed to bone on bone with much pain. Scheduled for surgery on July 5. I'm getting around and can (thankfully) still drive, but will be glad when it's all over. My daughter and SIL will come from SoCal to stay with me for a while.

Had the hip replacement on July 5...remarkably easy. I had the Mako robotic with anterior approach. No restrictions except not to cross my leg over the other and no extension to the back (like a lunge), so up and around immediately with a walker, and able to drive by the 12th day post-op, and no PT except to do the exercises on my own as prescribed. So now at almost 6 weeks, I can do anything I need to do...housework, outside stuff ( I do use one of my hiking poles when I'm out in the yard just to be on the safe side). I see the surgeon on 8/16 and expect to be signed off and cleared for anything.
The procedure was outpatient...signed in at 6:30 AM and discharged at 1:05 PM. Needed no pain med after the 5th day.

That's really good news. I'm so glad it worked out so well for you. A true modern miracle of medicine. You get to reclaim your life.
