    I favor "hell's bells" and my Dad's favorite.."Judas Priest"

  • officerripley

Every awful swear word or phrase you can think of, that's the way my dad talked; the 1st time I heard someone else's dad use a mild-mannered cuss word, I almost fell over at how much nicer that was.

I was expecting rain all day, not sure I was prepared for snow! Anybody else getting snow for Mothers Day?

  • Aggie

    Happy Mother's Day!

  • Syble

Good Morning all.  I signed in just to welcome Flipper2.0 to the group.  Hope you all are doing well.  I just had cataract surgery on my right eye a couple of weeks ago and will have the left eye done in three weeks.  Otherwise, all is well with me.  I do miss you all.

  • Jozee

Well hello there Syble! Glad you stopped by and good luck with your second surgery.

  • Syble

Sorry I got off the main subject of welcoming Flipper to the group.  Let's give him a big welcome.

  • Jozee

    Welcome to the group Flipper.

  • Steven Robkoff

Hey, Syble...nicer to see you. I hope that everything'
    s o.k.

  • Syble

All is good at the moment, Steve.  Thanks.  Hope it is the same for you and Debbie.

Syble, we have a rough time for awhile. Debbie was having low blood pressure and we had her nurse here at the time. The nurse called 911 even though Debbie was saying no. She said that Debbie was dying  and she said "not on my watch". The er technician said she had afib.  She was in the hospital a few weeks. She had a cardiac ablation,Water around her heart was removed, they installed a clip and now she has a pacemaker. She's recuperating now and there will hopefully be no more ER visits. Life is slowly getting back to normal. We don't want any more unscheduled excitement.

  • officerripley

Sorry for your probs, Steve; hope Debbie gets better, hang in there.

    And welcome aboard, Flipper.

  • Syble

Steve that happened to me three years ago.  I am doing much better now.  My pulse dropped to 30 beats a minute. That and shortness of breath were my only symptoms. I was care flighted to the hospital. I always wanted to fly in a helicopter but not like that.  LOL

  • Karin M Fichtner

Well, I, for one, am glad you joined us, Flipper.  :-). SsSTEVE, I am so sorry to hear about Debbie's health problems.  She...and you...have been through a rough time.  I hope she will be feeling much better from here on.  I have A-Fib, too, so I know it brings with it other concerns.  I send my wishes and prayers for her continued improvement.

  • Steven Robkoff

Thanks,Officerripley and Syble. It was really scary. When they were working on her her pressure dropped so low that she actually died and they had to use those flippers...or whatever they're called...to shock her back to life and they had to use them twice. Thanks to the clip and pacemaker this will not happen again. Needless to say, after all that she's gone through in the past weeks, all she does is sleep as her body heals itself. Funny, she's not on any heart medications now..."new" heart.

  • Jozee

Sorry to hear about Debbie’s health but glad she’s slowly on the mend.

  • Gloria Helmer / Datsunlvr

Good grief Steve! That A-FIB is scary. Here's hoping you and Debbie can get back to normal ASAP. I know what it is like to live with life threatening medical issues hanging over you and wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy ... let alone  cherished friends ...

  • Jozee

Thanks to Syble for bringing everyone back in the group!

What happened to Helen? Saw picture on FB with leg in a cast.

It is with a sad heart today that I come to let y'all know, my life partner of nearly 10 years has died a week ago tomorrow. David passed only one day after the doctors told us there was nothing more they could do for him. I have been in a virtual fog ever since but know that eventually that fog will lift and the reality set in. It will be then that the hardest part comes, learning to live without him again ...

  • Syble

I am so sorry to hear of your loss and know what you are going through.  My husband passed away when I was 70.  That was 14 years ago and it is tough at first and you will wonder how you will handle everything by yourself.  I have lived alone all this time and somehow you will overcome your fears and make it through. It will get easier with time and you will find that you can do things that you never dreamed you would have to.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.  Take care of yourself. You are important too.

  • Jozee

So sorry for your loss, Gloria.

  • Karin M Fichtner

I am so sorry to hear this. My sympathies go out to you....and my prayers, as well.
  • Gloria Helmer / Datsunlvr

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers, They are most appreciated ...

Though we need to weep your loss,

You dwell in that safe place in our hearts,

Where no storm or night or pain can reach you

Let us not look for you only in memory,

Where we would grow lonely without you.

You would want us to find you in presence,

    Beside us when beauty brightens,

    When kindness glows

    And music echoes eternal tones.

So sorry for your loss. I've been through it and after 15 years, I miss him every day. You don't get over it, but you will get through it.

    So now I'm a vegetarian...

  • officerripley

Then again, Aggie's story--good one, btw, :-D--could be considered a health practice; I just saw online a book review, Activate Your Vagus Nerve by Dr. Navaz Habib; here is literally from a favorable review of the book: "...if I'm feeling especially stressed, down, or heavy hearted, I just go to my bathroom and gag myself with my toothbrush or gargle with himalayan salt water, and come out refreshed/soothed and feeling much more calm and normal." I mean...I can't even...

    That was funny Aggie!
