    Es verdad!

Absolutely true.  And if I remember right, wasn't it that radical Jewish carpenter who also said something about it being easier for a camel to go thru the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter heaven?

I've been MIA for a couple of days due to having out 6 year old grandson and our 8 year old great nephew spending the last couple of days with us. Takes a lot of energy to keep up with those two!!!!

  • Karin M Fichtner

Well, if you are well enough to handle their visit, that's a good thing. Beats having you back in the hospital again. Enjoy them.

Oh, I do enjoy them Karin. Unfortunately the great nephew passed along his cold. I got it first, then the grandson, and finally Dee. I think I'm getting a little better, and the grandson seems to have shaken it off, but Dee is still on the downward side.

Advice for anybody that is thinking about digging up a Robellini palm tree. DON"T DO IT, or be prepared to work your butt off for two days. I bought a new all steel shovel for this job, and the first thing I did was sharpen it till it was knife sharp. That's the only way that I could cut through the roots. I got down almost three feet, and still couldn't pry it out of the ground, so I used a come-a-long to winch it loose. Then I had to build a dirt ramp up one side of the hole to winch it out.

The hole is partially filled in due to torrential rain the night after I got it out of the hole, and the branches are tied up so I could dig around it easier.

I know I said DON"T try this, but if your wife wants a palm next to the pool, what's a guy supposed to do???

PS. I had to cut off approx. 75% of the root ball to get the palm to fit into it's new pot. I also planted some bamboo where the palm was, but it still looks kinda wimpy, so may take a pic when it perks up a bit.

    You're a good husband, TBD. :-)

    I try Karin.  ;-)

Wow, nice pool, TeeBub. Almost everybody around here is filling their pools in cuz of the drought, seems unusual to see one without dirt in it, lol. (In fact, there are a bunch of enterprising guys who are starting fill-in-your-pool-for-ya businesses; maybe I oughta invest...)

  • Karin M Fichtner

Look at you.......all Hollywood there by your beautiful pool!  I'm jealous.  :-)

  • TeeBubbaDee

Not filling this one in officer!!!@

Hollywood Karin??? The first pic my wife took was a much closer shot. I told her to back up about 20 feet and take it again. Trust me, I look much better in the longer shot! Oh, and you can come and take a plunge anytime you are near Largo FL.

  • officerripley

Speaking of FL, do you know where Lake Worth is, TeeBub?  Whoever gotta hold of Hubby's debit card #--no, he didn't lose the card; hackers have their ways I guess--used it for or to give $$ to an Anthony Daly in Lake Worth.

  • TeeBubbaDee

Lake Worth is quite a ways from here. I'm kinda mid state, on the gulf near Tampa/St. Pete. Fort Worth is on the Atlantic side, farther south, down near West Palm Beach.

  • Karin M Fichtner

Hey TBD....My best friend lives in Bradenton, FL. We are talking about my coming down as soon as she finishes remodeling her spare bedroom. How far is that from you?
  • TeeBubbaDee

Not that far Karen. Bradenton is south of me, but Off the top of my head, it's probably something like 45/50 miles.

  • TeeBubbaDee

Karin, If you want to send me the address in a PM, I could map quest it and tell you exactly how far.

  • TeeBubbaDee

Hotter than Hades on my roof. I've been up there watching the roofers replace a small section of flat roof that has been leaking for a couple of years. Surprised the heck outta me when they didn't have to replace any wood!

  • Karin M Fichtner

I have to call her to get it. She moved last winter and I lost the address.
  • TeeBubbaDee

No problem Karin. When you get it, just PM me and I can let you know how far it is. Not sure when you are coming down, but I'm not also sure whats going to happen when I see my DR next month. I'm going to ask him to quit dicking around and do another surgery so I can get this nephrostomy tube outta my back, so may be in the hospital again sometime in the near future. You may want to come down a little later in the year anyway because it is HOT here in the summer.

  • TeeBubbaDee

Well, they say bad things come in threes. I'm waiting for number three. Last night one of my outdoor speakers quit working. Easy fix, just some corrosion on the speaker wires that I had to clean up. Just for kicks, I thought I'd spin a few albums this afternoon, but was only getting one channel out of the turntable. So I took my antique (about 37 years old) turntable apart, and after some digging found a loose screw holding a wire. Not one of the speaker wires, but it must have had something to do with the left and right of the stereo since the turntable works after tightening down the screw. So there's my two, whats behind door number three????????

Hang in there TeeBub; I can relate tho: Hubby (who had the 5way bypass a few years bk) has been having his BP skyrocket so we're working on that; I left our deep freezer door open by mistake all night last wk & ruined at least $50 of frozen food; aaaand the cherry on top?  just found out we're losing our supplemental health ins. the end of the yr; now gotta see what ins. we can get that all our doc's will take. (Sometimes I wish we could use our dog's vet; I guess people used to actually do that back in the day...)

  • TeeBubbaDee

Geez officer, my stereo problems look pretty wimpy compared to yours. Probably the worst thing that happened to me today was while I was sitting on the roof watching the guys work. I was fine until I got up, and the whole sole of my shoe fell off. The heat just melted it right off.

I'm on disability so Medicaid picks up my medical bills, but try finding a specialist of ANY kind that takes it, is an uphill battle. Got my fingers, toes and eyes crossed for your hubby!!!

I used this website's search engine to see who was talking about Sesame Street's move to HBO. It said no one had mentioned Sesame Street since 2013. Wow. So anyway, did you hear that Sesame Street's moving to HBO? How rude is that? When my kids were little, we could not have afforded HBO. Maybe HBO is going broke.

  • TeeBubbaDee

I had no idea Sesame Street was moving. I think it stinks, but again, doesn't actually pertain to me as my grandchild is past that age.

  • TeeBubbaDee

Had a bunch of limes off the tree in the back yard, so made my first key lime/mango pie. Made a Graham cracker and ginger snap crust, and dusted the top with more ginger snap crumbs and chopped mango pieces. Made it yesterday afternoon and was half gone last night.
