It was minus 32 night before last...coldest in my 29 years here in NWMT. Last winter it went to minus 30 and froze a water line. This year I remembered the "7 P's"...Prior Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance, and I emerged unscathed. I…Continue

Could be. The long range forecast shows daily highs above freezing and nothing in the forecast. This is my 29th Christmas here and only recall maybe once without snow. After last year, I'll be shedding no tears if I see grass. There is just a…Continue

So it begins. Started snowing yesterday afternoon, with temps in the 20's, though it was sunny and 70 on Saturday, and still snowing. Should be about 3" when it stops around noon. I did take the precaution of putting the snow pusher and snow shovel…Continue

Nights in the 30's, but no hard freeze yet. Painted the porch...will not procrastinate again so I won't have to pressure wash and scrape before painting. Washed windows, washed and waxed the car, got my flu and covid shots (no reactions). Leaves are…Continue

Too hot, too dry, too smoky, but no fires within 30 miles. Garden a bust. But...no wasps, hornets or yellow jackets. Guess there's an upside to anything. Hope yours was better.Continue

Sorry for your loss Lynn. I didn't know him but I am sad you lost a buddy to chat with. Condolences. May he RIP
Remember Mark Kuhn? I don't know what his TBD name was, but I'm sure some of you may remember arguing with him!
We were best buds for many years, chatting on the phone every night. He passed away in his sleep from heart failure on August 11th. I thought y'all would want to know.
A woman is looking for a Christmas present for her husband. She walks by a pet shop and sees a beautiful parrot. The price is $50.
“Why so little?” she asks. The store manager says, “This bird used to live in a brothel and has a kind of a vulgar mouth.”
The woman decides to buy the parrot anyway. She brings the parrot home and puts his cage near the Christmas tree. First thing the bird says is, “New house, new madam.” She's a little shocked but figures that’s not so bad.
When her two daughters get home from school, the bird sees them and says, “New house, new madam, new girls.” The woman is surprised, but she figures the parrot will straighten out once it figures out who everybody is.
A little while later, the woman’s husband, Frank, comes home from work. As he walks in the door, the bird says: “Hi Frank.”

Thanks, Helen, just beautiful.
OfficerRipley, I find them on the internet and I made the saying in another program online.
Wow is that beautiful, Helen! Where do you find all the pretty pix?
