What comes after the initial YES WE CAN slogan? Looking for the unspoken follow up to this phrase, both positive and negative. Call it the fill in the blank game. Here are some examples:

YES WE CAN...say one thing and do another.
YES WE CAN...vote to raise everyone's taxes and not pay our own.
YES WE CAN...fan the flames of racism rather than judge people by the content of their character.
YES WE CAN...screw things up just as much as the Republicans, but in a different way.
YES WE CAN...what?

If healthcare is a RIGHT, then why isn't food a RIGHT, and clothing and housing and transportation? Why not just let the government take over EVERYTHING?
They worry about a pandemic, they worry about the swine flu. They give out flu shots each year to people of certain ages and pregnant women.
They have food pantries at churches and you can get emergency help with your power, fuel, even emergency food stamps
You know what, it's fine, really. I'm not asking for FREE HEALTHCARE. I'm asking for THE RIGHT NOT TO BE ROBBED BY MY INSURANCE CO. So if a young parent gets an illness that they would've gotten care for if they had insurance or had ENOUGH insurance, could've lived. But they die. Let's say it's the dad who works 1 full time job and 2 part time jobs. The mom also works. They have 1 child.
So, they don't qualify for medicade, and they can't afford insurance. They live modestly, in a small 2 bedrm apt. Taking the bus to work or walking.
Now, he's dead thru no fault of their own except they didn't have money, and HE WAS DENIED REAL CARE. Now, the mom and the child are homeless. They end up living on the street.
Another let's say. The family has insurance. Same family, but they can't afford the dedudictable for his care of a life and death situation. So, he dies. Same ending.
We have Pro life people screaming about abortions. Saying the unborn have the right to life.
But the living, they don't care about...And do I understand from you that it's fine with you.
Remember every hour 5 people die. So by the end of this day, 120 people will be dead due to lack of insurance. Men, women, children, babies. Not to mention those in senseless pain, losing limbs, suffering from illness' that are cureable.
So, if these things are not a right, let's stop helping other countries. Just tell them it's not a right and they have no right to health access.
Let's just take away ALL HEALTH INSURANCE, NO MATTER IF YOU CAN PAY FOR IT OR NOT. AFTER ALL, IT'S NOT A RIGHT. Let's restrict using your car to work and essentials only. People have NO Right to entertainment, like going to dinner, movies, concerts, night clubs.
If you are out, let's have check points where you show your papers as to your plans as to where you're going and why. After all driving is a priveledge, not a right.
Yep, you could be on to something here. There are so many things people take as a right, when they aren't , so let's start at cars and work our way from there. After all, it's not like people would die from not having a car. In fact, let's not allow them to have a car if they are on a busline or can take a subway. They don't need it and it's not a right.
Great idea, I'll start email campaigns right away. If so many have to do without insurance, which is lifesaving, let's start taking away privledeges from others.
I don't get it what was the web site supposed to show?
Well, duh, of course we want socialism. The evils of capitalism rival the evils of militarism and racism.
Why is everything that happens to an individual EVERYONE else's responsibility?
My wife pays $500.00 per month for insurance.
What would it cost if the government ran it? $1000 bucks.
Don't trust any government programs.
Do you drive on highways, call police or firemen if you need them, go to National Parks, like to drink clean water, eat safe food, or any of the thousands of other things govenment does and does well? My son who is handicapped could not get insurance at any price when he turned 21. He finally got into a government run program. He pays about $200 a month and has great insurance.
I would guess that you just made up that $1000 figure didn't you.
Have a nice day.
My $1000.00 was just a guess.
Maybe in about a 1000 years Amtrack will make money? (just a guess) The rest of the RR's make money.
Why the Post Office needed a bail out.
In one area they have 1000 bosses and 100 workers.
When it comes to layoff time, they cut the workers.
(another guess)¿
Have a nice day to you too.
Most of the things you name are services and not intended to make money. You don't expect the police, fire department or highway system to make money on there own. However they contribute to the good of the country. Amtrack especially along the East coast keeps 1000's of cars off the road everyday and that is good for all of us. The worst thing they ever did was to turn the Post Office into a semi private cooperation. It has been going down hill ever since.
Amen. (corny, I know...preaching...religious reference...couldn't help myself)
I don’t see a thing wrong with the Post Office or Amtrak making money.
I guess that’s just being conservative, I guess.
The Post Office is a potential gold mine for the tax payer.
Yes we can have beer, food and ("Are you ready for some...") FOOTBALL!!!!!
