I just noticed this question and got flooded with memories. I didn't buy this ugly thing. Friends of my parents actually gave it to them, and we all had to live with it in the living room. I went looking to see if I could find a picture of it, and here it is:

Too funny.  I have lots of souvenirs but I don't think any of them are tacky.  I have a mug and a fluted glass from a cruise my husband and I took.  I have a wooden shoe from somewhere in Europe, a bell from St. Louis, a ceramic trolley  from Harrod's in London, a blue delft pot from Holland (?), and a tiny creche from Israel, all were brought to me from the travels my sons took before they married and settled down.  I love them all and all are very tasteful.
