One of two suspects wanted in Monday’s deadly Boston marathon bombing was killed early Friday in a violent standoff with the police in a quiet residential neighborhood just west of Boston. The second suspect remained at large following what authorities described as a deadly crime spree that left one police officer dead and another seriously wounded.

It Has Happened Again...
Another day, and another event showing that we live in a dangerous world. And no, this is not a natural event, it was a planned attack carried out to do damage and kill people and property.
And yes, it so happened on a date of significance, the Boston Marathon is held on Patriot's Day, a public holiday in Massachusetts that celebrates the battles of Lexington and Concord and the beginning of the American Revolution and, of course, it is, today, the day that we must file our taxes.
As to what happened, how it happened and by whom, we are still learning. As has happened in the past, as an ongoing news event some of what is reported is in error and speculation that does not pan out, is misleading and subject to change. What did happen is at least two people were killed in Boston, many were injured with a nation put on alarm and alert.
We can assume terrorism We can assume that it was a dedicated individual, individuals that are involved, whose motives we cannot accept as being reasonable and justified. We can also assume that some sort of reaction will be required to bring justice to those involved and stop any further acts in the future.
What we can also assume is our security and sense of security is once again under attack and as such, the point of what has happen, that we are not as secure as we would like, we are not safe as safe as we would like, but we are and can be confident and capable of defending ourselves and our country to deal with threats both foreign and domestic.

Chechnya, a funny name, hard to pronounce and impossible for almost every American to find on a map, and yet, a perfect place from which terrorism and terrorists have sought to seek to make their point, death. It is a region of the world that has been devastated and brutalized by violence. And yes, it is religion that is at the center of that violence as to what Chechnya has suffered as a region and a people, and has caused those from it to exported revenge and to make others suffer what has been done to them.
But why here? Why Boston? Why injure and kill those people that were partaking in a holiday event that brings people together and demonstrates something about what people can do to challenge themselves and overcome limitations to accomplish a singular purpose to doing a race, a marathon.
What we do know is violence has been done, no matter what the cause. What we know is that it was simply done and done simply with consequences that are seriously damaging to a place, persons and a country, which was the intent and is always the intent of a terrorist.
What we know is that it can happen again, and that we are vulnerable as a society because of the freedoms and liberties we believe in for ourselves and others. We can fear many things, groups and individuals and do, but it is that fear that has been the weapon used against us many times, and we have not succumbed, yet.

And so by way of taking a lesson from Bush's invasion of Iraq, you are saying we should attack Uruguay for example for the Boston Bombings? And of course President Obama has had to do clean up after Bush's "Mission Accomplished" nonsense. And taxpayers will be paying for Bush's wars for the next century or until the last veteran dies and the last blowback fades away.

Both the house and senate voted to go to war and as soon as the war became unpopular, The house and senate blamed Bush for the war. How would you like to work with people like that? History will show Bush as being one of our greatest presidents and prove some of the American people are easily brainwashed.
The terrorists have a powerful lobby in this country.
How can we compare this to invading Uruguay? If they let terrorists hide there, kick their butt.

Assuming, darroll, that you're even aware of that important detail. Not that it makes any difference to your big-talking gung-ho bullshit. Quoting Karl Rove is like quoting Josef Goebbels - It's fine, as long as you don't give a shit about the actual truth.
As for today's events...The more details that emerge from this, the less sense it makes. Both of the suspect's friends and schoolmates describe them as polite, friendly, open and funny. Never a peep about islam or radicalism or kill-the-infidel from either of them, at least until a couple of months ago, when the elder (and dead) of the two began talking crazy. And the FBI keeps mentioning how utterly amateurish and unprofessional both the bombs were, as well the suspects' behavior afterwards.
Their uncle mentioned how he kept his family away from the suspects' family, letting slip something about a falling-out with their father. On one hand I'm smelling a frame-up (or at least those two fools somehow being blackmailed or forced into committing their crimes), but on the other hand they were shooting at cops and throwing bombs at them. They're guilty as sin, but I can't escape a nagging feeling of things not adding up, of many details yet to come to light after this is finally over. (I'm reminded of those barbaric "honor killings" that many young muslims are commanded to commit, even against their own mothers and sisters. As far as I'm concerned, radical islam is just as rotten as radical christianity, or any militant expression of faith. All of this just makes me wish harder for the day when humanity finally wakes up from the nightmare of magical invisible men in the sky ordering children and idiots to kill each other over who has the "right" god.)
