How to have fun

I was talking with a friend the other day, and he said "I don't remember how to have fun!" He said his life is so filled with obligations, things he must do or should do, that he has no time for himself. When he occasionally does have some free time, he doesn't know what to do. He says he doesn't know how to have fun any more!

So, what do you do for fun? How do you spend your free time? What is the funnest thing you've done in the last year.

OK, I'll start!  For me it's reading fiction, especially escapist fantasy and stuff 'I am too old for', Like Tolkien, H.G.Wells, Paolini ...

I go fishing and also find fun in playing sax or the harmonica. I love sitting by the lake with the poles in the water. The quiet is wonderful and so nice to hear all the little sounds of nature. I go alone because I don't want to hear any yapping while I'm out there :)

Do you break out the footsie pjs?? I think small kids are so awesome. They are the best excuse to get goofy I can think of and no one thinks you're crazy. They just think that you're good with kids!!

He's pushing 4 and the footsie jammies are a thing of the past. He's growing up TOO FAST!!! But I agree about getting goofy. I do silly stuff with that little guy that I would have never dreamed of before he came into my life. This pic is a year old, but one of my favorites.

A good friend of mine invited me to come along with her girlfriends for a "girls" night out. We all went for dinner and dancing ( we knew some of the people in the band). I rarely stay up past 10:00 so I needed about 5 cups of coffee to stay invigorated. Of course I ended up vising the bathroom multiple times since I'm old and pee a lot. One time I needed to go and was blocked by a twenty something girl gyrating on the dance floor. She had her back to me so didn't realize that I wanted to get by her - my friend in the band noticed us since we were really close to the stage area. I started to imitate her dance movements to get him to laugh and then the girl turned around and probably thought I was trying to meet her or something. She started motioning with her index finger for me to join her so I played along and went into a Travolta routine. I stopped when I realized a number of people had cleared an area and were watching us. Anyway, it was probably a lot more fun for the spectators.
