TBD

TBD on Ning

I like discussions much more than Chat.  How about You? Why don't we check in here when we come on line and see who else is on? Then check out when we leave.

I'm on.

I'm late, but I'm now here. Now I'll go see if anyone has posted anything interesting.

I really do need to start my Christmas shopping.

Time for Happy's late night pee and then brush my teeth and crawl into  bed.

Good to see *you* again!

I guess I just have a tough beans , I'm going to post and get it off my chest no matter what sort of attitude and eventually they figured I wasn't going away LOL so they might as well acknowledge me. That kinda works.

Merry - !!!!!!!!!!!!@#$% LOVE THE ATTITUDE --- Stay with it :)

Hello Soul's and Karen Bear!  I remember back to 2008 when I joined the first TBD.  I was summarily ignored at first.....I thought of myself as "The Thread Killer".  This place (Q & A) seemed very cliquish, and I actually left TBD for a month or so.

I started over, and just lurked for a bit.  I found that there was a rhythm here, and like it or not, I was going to have to embrace that rhythm to fit in.  I remember the first person to respond to one of my posts...it was AggieK.  I think she may still be a member here, although presumably, mostly inactive.  CWO3Robbie was also responsive.

Things came together rapidly after that, within a few days I was an old pro at this stuff, and through all the evolutionary phases of TBD, I'm still mostly here, in Q & A.  I still enjoy it, and yes, most of the regulars have been here for quite a while now.  I've even met a few TBD (and MA) folks in real life.

I'm going to gently disagree with my friend D's Girl, and say.....yes, this place (meaning Q & A) is cliquish.  It always has been cliquish.  People here chat over the virtual backyard fence while hanging up the virtual laundry.  They wish each other Happy Birthday, they are concerned about each others' health, they are interested in what the others' are having for dinner.  They know each other well enough to tease, and pick up the subtleties and nuances in each others' printed word.

Oh, there are other groups in TBD/Ning that are edgier, slicker, racier, more political, and most of the Q & A folks probably belong to some of those too.  Here we tend to be a little older, a little stodgier, a little more set in our ways, and yes, a little more liberal (myself, well I'm a couple of ticks right of center, and they tolerate me just fine).

So, with all this being said, I truly do hope you stick around.  I have to say, yes, this is a cliquish place, but the clique isn't that hard to be part of, and you are fitting in quite well, already.

Oh, and please feel free to PM me if you'd like to message about this place some more.  If we aren't already friends, please send me a request so we actually CAN communicate privately.  This goes for anybody else who would like to hear just how it is, according to Stir.  Best regards!

I like stir, and stir doesn't know it cause I never know how to respond to your posts , stir. It isn't because I don't like people, it's just that I'm tongue tied at times.

I think I have responded to you in the past. If I haven't I'll try to correct that in the future.

I do know that I have often responded to KB's posts.

One of the problems(which we are trying to correct by asking people to invite others) is that the active membership is now very small. I probably don't need to explain how that effects the amount of responses. It does appear that a few of the old timers are returning. And we do get a fair amount of request to become members. So, Just keep after it and maybe it will come back.

If you find a topic that you would like to comment on do it regardless of how long it has been since anybody has been there. You will bring it back to the top and very often good discussions start that way.

By the way welcome.

I'm easily amused and easily amuse myself. Anything more is just Confusion.

Yep, you do abuse, Oops, I mean amuse your self often.
