TBD

TBD on Ning

So here we are looking around, taking a peek... hanging out.

On some thread a bit ago, some one said how annoying the FB was with all the trivial updating goings on.

Personally, I don't think my daily updating is all that interesting but some times I really feel the need to share.  My kitties don't give a whit and the bird...well, he lives in his own world.  His updates would mostly involve "lived another day"..."got some of that shredded stuff again (cheese)"  etc.

Mostly, I have you fine folks to droll on about my meager existence and occasional moments of wonderful.

So, here you go...Keep it brief...mundane with a bit of intrigue.

Hiya T!

Glad you're home.

Have a beer. Or two ;-)

"Hi caseyjo, I've been back and forth between Ohio and Florida for the last couple years. Mostly Florida, but I would come back to Ohio at least 4 or 5 times a year, and usually only stay a week or two at a time.  I came to Ohio to see my Mom for Mother's Day, But our next next door neighbors (practically like our own kids) asked us if they could rent place for her parents. Soooo, here I am having movers put 27 years of my life in cardboard boxes so they can haul it all to Florida."

Oh My....Thats a lot of work.....Didnt you have a big operation not to long ago? How are you managing? I remember something about the Dr. saying you would be hating him for a long time after the operation. I haven't heard a peep of a complaint out of you.....

I'm doing pretty good caseyjo. The operation was last June, and full recovery was predicted to take a full year, so I'm getting there. He actually said that I would hate hom after the surgery, but after a year, we would be friends. I still limit myself slightly. Mainly I just don't pick up anything over about 40 pounds.

PS. The neighbors asked me about renting 2 days before I was originally supposed to fly back, so it really put me under the gun to try and get it all together as fast as possible. I wound everything up in just under 2 weeks.

I am glad the operation was successful...I had a double hernia operation the end of last year.....I suppose it took about 6 weeks to two months for me to feel pretty good. There is mesh in me to hold everything in place now..I (like you) am not allowed to lift very much weight..

I am surprised they allow you to lift at all considering the extent of your operation...I remember the hospital ordeal you went through..being blown up like a baloon everyday ....My operation was simple compared to yours...Glad your alright now.....Wow...A year sure does fly....

It's amazing where medical technology has taken us. I'm so glad that you both - and other friends of mine - can have an improved quality of life because of it. Peace, dear ones.

Thanks Kate. Modern medicine is truly great, BUT, It took 10 years, and a total of 7 operations to fix what started as an umbilical hernia.

PS. caseyjo, I pray that your mesh holds up. I know people that do fine with it, but mine never held. My 2nd repair was a mesh plug. When I had the 3rd repair done, (strangulated and nearly killed me) the surgeon said the mesh plug was shredded into about a hundred tiny pieces that he had to pick out one by one. My last surgery used pig skin inserted under the muscle instead of the mesh patch on top of the muscles.

I guess I am really part pig. You'd think It would put me off of eating bacon, but it doesn't. :-)
