TBD

TBD on Ning

Okay, that's not really what I want to know.

What I really want to know is...

Who has an in to a little vacation cabin in North Georgia or the Great Smoky Mountains

or near Asheville? Somebody? Maybe? Hopefully?

We found the IDEAL place - a former artist's studio cum getaway cabin east of Asheville

& were SOOOOO excited.

.... only to learn that the only time it's available before September is a week that I have

a work obligation I can't get out of. *sniff*

So far nothing else I've seen will do, now that I have my heart set on that little artist's studio-cabin.

Look at this... I LOVE this!

For me, that's just a broken leg waiting to happen...

You know, you're right:) We never used to think that way!

Age has nothing to do with it. I've never met a set of stairs I have fallen down AND up...they don't call me "Grace" for nothing...

sigh....

You could always pitch a tent somewhere, couldn't you?

OMG - you won't believe what my first choice was before D-man found the Artist's Studio!

A TIPI!!!!!

I'll go find it & snag a pic. brb.

Have you tried VRBO? I've used the site many times for vacations, and also love to look at it just to dream. It's kind of like a classified ad page for people listing properties for rent all over the world. I'd love to try one in Paris and one in Nice some day. And drink wine all the way between them.

Thanks, kainsworth, I'll check it out. There's a great site called exploreashville that I've been using, plus just Google Searches & Craigslist. I think "talking" it through on this thread has talked me into going w/another place on our originally planned dates, instead of waiting until September to get the Artist's Studio. (of course, I could change my mind back 5 minutes from now ;-p)

Here's one that would be the best option, since Ducatiman thinks I can't 'rough it' in the tipi.

...just b/c I've never been camping & have been known to say that my idea of roughing it is staying in a hotel that doesn't have wifi, he thinks I'm a little princess who couldn't handle camping. sheesh.

I think this is our alternative to the 'studio'.

Get a tent....a sleeping bag....firewood and a cooking pot. You'll love it.
