Thank you, Lori,

I'm still a little shaken from putting it in writing. The people who I believe share this story with me and I feel should have a say in my sharing it, are my husband, Mark, and my children, Jason (23), and Lauren(20). They were, as they've always been, very supportive. When I told my children my story years ago I gave them permission to tell the story if ever they felt it would help someone, such as someone who might be in an abusive situation.

One of the points people need to understand, though, is that not every abused child grows up to become an abuser. I believe my father was abused. He had a choice. He had many choices, for each time he hurt me. I had those same choices, and along with Mark, raised two kids (along with rescued greyhounds and rescued cats) in a loving, happy and healthy
household. And it wasn't in any way a hard choice - it was the easy one. I will never understand abusive relationships themselves, but I absolutely don't get it when they talk about the cycles of abuse in families. How can an abused child ever grow up to abuse another child? Because in I feel more like the abused child Lynda, as much as I feel like the adult Lynda.

Hi Lori,
It's good to have you back! I'm working on my story off-line and then I think I will post it. How do you handle being that exposed?

Hello Lori, Are you going to be part of The Golden Rule group? On my page, a little more than half-way down is a short YouTube of Karen Armstrong talking about her creation,a Charter of Compassion. I think you will really enjoy it.
You have no idea how much it helps to know someone understands and cares every day. My Best, Lynda
