I'll Take VA health care

If the government is able to run this and do a better job then other providers, why not let them in to compete with the private insurance companies.

I don't get how the same people who are all for a free market, are getting so scared to let Uncle Sam in. The only answer I can come up with , is they don't want anyone or anything get a hold of the booty they make from our misery.

Attorneys are Victims of Cliques, Too

Years ago I worked as a paralegal. I had a law degree, but I was underemployed. I complained to my psychotherapist that I was shunned by other employees. The therapist told me the problem was that I was underemployed: that people saw me as a "freak." He told me that the thing to do was to find employment as a lawyer--that way I would have colleagues who were on my professional level.

The problem is that lawyers working as lawyers are somtimes shunned by the prevailing clique at a… Continue

The Lonely Traveller

One theory suggests that many creatively gifted individuals may suffer from depression as a result of being in environments that don't support their creativity. In her book, The Woman's Book of Creativity , C. Diane Ealy, PhD writes, "Many studies have shown us that a young girl's ideas are frequently discounted by her peers and teachers. In response, she stifles her creativity.” Other experts agree that suppressed and misunderstood creativity can lead to severe neurotic and psychotic behavior,… Continue

Over Germany... The first attacks by RAF Bomber Command go in against German warships in the Heligoland Bight with 29 Blenheim and Wellington bombers in a daylight raid. The Admiral Scheer is hit three times but the bombs do not explode. The cruiser Emden is damaged by wreckage of a shot-down Blenheim. Of the attacking aircraft, 7 are lost. There is no question at this stage of attacking targets in Germany.

Has everyone gone crazy?

I can't help it! I think everybody has gone crazy! Well, not really everybody, but I think you'll get the picture as you read this post. First there's the whole health care reform frenzy/paranoia/craziness! Here are two quotes from friends of facebook that say a lot:

"When parents cant afford or have no desire to send their children to private schools, the most common "option" is to send them to public school, Yet no one screams "socialized education"

and

" No one should… Continue

A problem seems to have occurred.

For further assistance, please contact us.

Or you can go back to the TBD main page.............

I can't send TBD e-mail or respond to TBD e-mail. I have had this problem once before and it eventually worked itself out. I will give it a couple days, then try to find out who to write about it. Is anyone else having this e-mail problem?

Round peg in a square hole

I think I will take some time off the blog section for a while...I lost a friend because of the blog I put up " Here no evil, See no evil,Speak no evil" about how I felt about people who censor blogs, because I felt I got censored unfairly.

Maybe I was too tough, maybe I am not so smart, maybe I should have let it slide and just forgot about it like I normally would have done. I am a square peg in a round hole, always have been. I have never felt like I fit in TBD since I came here… Continue

The way I remember it...this one's for you, guys.

I am a story teller. It's what I do, it's in my genes. At the request of several friends, I am going to start telling my stories. I am not a writer, I am a story teller, so forgive me, Mrs. Eilerts, on the many grammatical, contextural mistakes that are sure to follow. And as all my fellow TBDers will attest, I am notoriously long winded despite constant reproaches from "moderators" to keep it short. I am a lover of the written word, can't convey deep, personal feelings in one sentence, I don't… Continue

September 2, 1939

In London... Throughout the day there are frantic talks about how to oppose Germany. The British Parliament is openly opposed to the passive line that the Chamberlain government is taking and in the evening, the Cabinet decides to present an ultimatum to Germany. The National Service Act is passed, allowing for the conscription of all men aged 19-41.

So many uncomfortable questions

I have a love of the difficult, the impossible questions. When people are deadly serious about a subject, they argue carefully, avoiding the triggering of issues they don't want to deal with. It becomes more important to affect the change we have committed to, rather than discuss it any further. The details get lost in the generalization of "for" and "against". I see this in health care, in the level of frustration at inaction.

Here no evil, see no evil, speak no evil....?

Whats up?...I left a comment on a certain blog. Some owners of blogs check their comments before approving them. Whats the point of a one sided blog? Whatcha gunna learn?. How can we gain truth and understanding if we pick and choose what we listen to and who's blogs we post? It just so happened my blog post was thoughtful and in no way would have hurt anyone.

My viewpoint may be different, but I hoped it would be helpful to some in the understanding of why someone might be tougher… Continue

How I Scammed the Social Security Administration With The Help Of Nicole Rafanello

Acting. It's an amazing craft, don't you think? How do those actors pull it off? Actors, really good actors, that is, project such incredible credibility. Outstanding actors, those few who can fool all the people all the time, are able to portray widely divergent roles with convincing ease.

The following is my audition tape for the lead role in "The Enraged Psychopath." What's interesting is that before I did the audition, Dr. Bash was always trying to get me to go back to work.… Continue
