Well I have been a little busy and do not come in often. But things are slowing down some and I will come in more often now. I go to either the Daily Grind or my group The Gathering Place. Now since I am in Alabama I guess I am rolling with the Tide. Between me and you I don't really watch football (but mums the word now). LOL You have a great night now and sweet dreams.

Thank you Apposite - I'm very complimented you have missed little ol' moi! Happy you liked the suggestions. They were proffered with studious thought and consideration. Not all political tomes are outdated, and as a student of war, I have kept the best of my late father's collection, books he & I shared and read together and agreed were worthy of time and attention, as these were the books that would stand the test of time.

Ah . . . I'm a clever bunny - I'm in Raleigh - not Toronto! I moved precisely because one more bloody winter in T.O. after 30 some year of it all was going to be the death of me! Of course, it's quite cold here too - but NO SNOW!!! AND lots of sunshine. I suffer from SAD - so I'm happy!

Apposite, given you liking for clarification and understanding perhaps you might find this book on physics (from both a western and eastern perspective ) intriguing and informative: The Dancing Wu Li Masters by Gary Zukav .

As far as TQ/A - Steve is rude. Often. It's his gig. It makes him happy. He picked the wrong target t'is all. I smack back ten fold if necessary - I'm fundamentally much more British than American and I don't suffer stupidity and (repeatedly) rude fools lightly. Most of the discussions after the initial get go - go around in spiraling downward circles and often times more than one person is busy eating their tail in delirious self-absorption. It becomes boring quickly.

Life is difficult enough. If my dry sense of humour - often intellectually based is not appreciated, I'm quite capable of taking it somewhere else where it might be better received.

I'm surprised you were not issued a sterling invite as it seems by invitation only now. Mind, if one is invited to stay - and is THEN trounced off - I can really see the fur flying ! Intimating that you were the cause of their decision in any manner ( I slogged through the whole C&C thread last night - Lord what a confusion) would be just - outrageous. Phillies fan and Flyers fan here...Eagles? Not so much. I don't follow a lot of football at all. Not sure why, my Dad and brothers were huge fans.

Our football fans have a gained a bad reputation through the years, most justified I'm afraid...it's hard to overlook throwing snowballs at Santa Claus :-)

I'm about an hour east of Gettysburg. Have you visited there? If not, you should!

Growing up in Philadelphia I toured the historic sites so often that I grew tired of them. In my 20's my boss appointed me offical tour guide for visiting customers who wanted to visit the city and Valley Forge. I gained a much better appreciation for the history that surrounds me.

I also live in a historic house...built circa 1760. Some quiet summer nights I sit out back and imagine the history that passed through this house...

I thought we always could agree to disagree....I think many saw my disagreeing as being argumentative, but it didnt feel like that to me.....Now I keep my spunk laying low..It isn't worth losing friends over....Besides that I lived my last 7 years on borrowed time which could be near a end (I'm a realist...That is if there is anything to real I really know anything about)...LOL......I just feel so much more peaceful & loving these days......:)
