Michael, hi. I've never been published because I haven't attempted to write anything yet. I'd like to write for children or young adults one day. How about you?
  • Maricel Evasco

Hey, if you like children's writing, maybe we could bounce ideas off each other. I've never even tried. What kind of themes would you write about.

And oh, Michael...how do you get a darn group to start talking? I'm kinda bored responding to myself. LOL

hi there! I started writing the Kid News before my own kids could even read. They liked the drawings and their mother read the little rhymes. My grandson is 6 now and I makes rhymes and drawings about the dinosaurs that live in the park across the street. The things they eat. Just any old childish thing that comes to mind. He knows that it's all pretend but it helps him learn to read, do basic math, etc.

I'm not scared.....Maybe underneath someplace I dont know about on the surface....
Is the toughness a cover-up for fear? Maybe, But I don't know it except for a twinge of it every now & then. The hard outer core becomes normal & is counted on......Your nice Michael...Thanks

    Hi Michael,

If you want polar bears, you'll have to head north.  I went south and saw penguins.

Holland America Line was the company I went with. The cruise was over 60 days long and we left Ft. Lauderdale and sailed down the Atlantic coast of South America, up and down the Amazon, down to the Antarctic peninsula, around the Horn and up the Pacific Coast of South America, through the Panama Canal and the back to Florida.

Since you live in Tacoma, you might like to give one of the many cruises up to Alaska a try to start with.  There are nice glaciers there, but none to hold up against those I saw in the Antarctic.  HAL goes to the Antarctic starting in January and returns in March.  Check online for their itinerary, prices, and pictures of accommodations.

    Hi Michael,

Coming back to your question and your response to my answer, I think you should take one of the short cruises from Seattle to Alaska.  I think you'd like seeing a couple of glaciers and the northern wildlife.  There aren't very many days where you can't get off and walk around onshore.  You can walk around a lot on the ship itself.  I really enjoyed meeting the different people who also chose that way of traveling the world.

I hope I'll hear about your own trip some day here.
