HAHAHA!  DD and I always joke about all those HORRIFYING, VIOLENT CRIMES that we did when we were stoned.

I was having a party, and lots of the people attending happened to be meat eaters. So, for them, I made a really beautiful roast of beef to add to all the vegetarian fare. My dear ex-boyfriend, who had adopted a macrobiotic diet and was slightly self-righteous about it, showed up. 

Being 1976 or so, we all got royally stoned. At some point, I wandered into the kitchen to refill platters, and there, illuminated only by the light of the refrigerator was my 6'4", now all bones, ex-boyfriend stuffing roast beef and Oreos into his cheeks like a chipmunk and topping it off with long "pppshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhs" of Reddi-Wip.

When he saw me, we both nearly choked to death laughing... 

Now THAT'S a diet!!!

Lang may yer lum reek! (Long may your chimney smoke.) It's a tradition in Scotland to take, among other items, a piece of coal (or some whiskey) with you when visiting friends and family on New Year's Eve. The coal is placed on the fire as a wish for the hosts’ long life, prosperity, warmth, and good cheer.

I have no coal, so here’s a wee dram of Scotch for its warming effect, and to convey the same wishes.
