About Me:
Me. Married. Mother. TBD-er, Twitter Tweeter & FB-er from Missouri. I am a torchlighter for the United Way, also a board member with the Lupus Foundation, Heartland Chapter. Married for 29 years to Mark, a creative director, graced with an abundance of Irish charm. My daughter, Lauren, is a beautiful, wise, old soul. My bright, blogger son, Jason, and innovative daughter(-in-law), Amanda, recently celebrated their very 1st anniversary in Chicago, where they are building a life together. Two cats, Asher & Cinderella (because they look like they sleep in a fireplace), also make up our home, along with my very lovable service dog, Elliot, a yellow lab. I have lupus and he helps me in many ways. His very favorite job is to remind me I cannot sing, and should never try inside the car. ___________________________________________________________________ "This Is What Lupus Looks Like" video by L.A. Lupus Lady (submitted by Lynda Michelson & Elliot) by Lynda Michelson on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 7:01pm Recently a Facebook-Twitter friend contacted me about participating in a lupus video she was putting together. I was honored to be asked, and sent her the requested pictures of myself with my service dog, Elliot. Please enjoy the video and pass it along to your friends. Thank you, Lynda & Elliot P.S. Lynda dear, thank you for thinking of me!
    Hope you and Elliot are well, and your family too!
    Busy day at work, and I have the wrong clothes: summer ones and the day is getting colder by the hour! Yikes!

    Thanks for the note. I get tired of the infighting and the personal attacks on TBD, and I guess I just finally had to say something, lol. A hug for you, too, and you may give Elliot an extra hug from me! Service dogs are one of God's ways of saying that you're not alone and even the smallest of creatures are needed and wanted. Have a great weekend!

    I have wept in the night for the shortness of sight
    that to somebody's need made me blind;
    But I never have yet
    Felt a tinge of regret for being a little to kind.

    You are welcome to my small world Lynda and I hope you enjoy what you see and hear....
    I would love to offer you a gift for today:

    Thank you Lynda & Elliot,
    We try to be well and happy -- sometimes we are and sometimes we fail but that doesn't matter ... life is just like that. Me too look forward to more poems and warm sharing times at TierII

    Elliot might like some Texas kitty coffee.

    I don't think that I fall into the category for recieving one yet here in Maine, I have just stocked up my house so that I don't have to go anywhere if I come down with it.

    Dear Lynda... and I thank you for this last wisdom.. so true..
    ".....Reverence for Life affords me my fundamental principle of morality, namely, that good consists in maintaining, assisting, and enhancing life and that to destroy, harm, or to hinder life is evil. Affirmation of the world -- that is affirmation of the will to live, which appears in phenomenal forms all around me -- is only possible for me in that I give myself out for other life....."

    L&L, Most of the time Happy seems to enjoy the travel. But sometimes he gets really bored. He loves hitting all the various dog parks. He lives up to his name. He gets SOO excited when other people come around. He really like Pru. What is funny is that many times We will be in an RV park where we have never been and people will come up to me and ask "is that Happy"? Turns out that we they have been in another park when we were there. Everyone recognizes my dog but few remember me.

    Maya Lin is currently working on what will be her last memorial, entitled What is Missing? which will focus on bringing awareness to the current crisis surrounding biodiversity and habitat loss. Once again reinventing what a monument can be, What is Missing? will be a multi-sited work existing in select scientific institutions, online as a website, and as a book. It will debut at the California Academy of Sciences in September 2009 with a sound and media installation located at the Academy's East Terrace.
