Exhilarating Singles

We are all here because we are single. If that be by choice or not, we are all looking for a place where we can find others to share our thoughts on being single. We are here to share our joy, our funny situations, our accomplishments and our tips to surviving on our own.

Everyone is encouraged to participate, whether that be comments, new topics, quizzes, jokes or links to great articles that effect our lives.

This is a great place to do all of this. Let’s just be nice and non-judgmental, so we are all comfortable to voice our thoughts.

My ex's future wife called me today and invited me to their wedding in Oct.  Now I need a date....someone hunky and who will act as if he thinks I'm the best thing God ever made.  I wonder how much that will cost.  Any suggestions???

  • Mickchick

    Suthin - call Frenchy!

  • Suthinsoul

    Frenchy??  Do tell!!

  • Suthinsoul

I thought about contacting Cowboys for Angels and renting Ash...LOL!  But it costs an arm and a leg to pay to get him here for just about 4 hours then send him back to Vegas.

  • Woody Woods

Suthin.......How about if I show up with you on my arm.....and I'll bring along my little godson who we can claim is our love child. That should send some a tidal wave through the crowd.......lol.

  • Suthinsoul

LOL@Woody!  Most of the people there would know if I had a child, it would be an emaculate conception...LOL!!!  But, hey, if you're willing to pretend to lay public affection on thick, come on down!!

  • Suthinsoul

BTW Woody.  How much  you charge to rent for one day??

  • Woody Woods

Only charge would be a crab cake dinner.....and a safe passage out of town......lol.

  • Suthinsoul

Not real sure where to get crab cakes in Alabama....Red Lobster maybe?  I can take you back to the airport.  I'm a real safe driver (((SMILE))).

I saw this question on one of the other groups.I wondered what you all think about it. "Can You Find Real love In A Bar ? I was asked out recently at a club I did not except. Now I am kicking myself for saying no. Was I right or wrong ?

  • Mickchick

I guess you can find real love anywhere, but I wouldn't expect to find it in a bar.  I mean,I think I'M a nice person, and I've been to bars!  What if someone met me there, was attracted to me, but said - nah - I met HER in a BAR!  Or vice versa ...

On the other hand ... I have tended to feel that way about people I'VE met in bars, lol!

  • Ursula

Depends on the bar and the meeting.  I met my husband in a bar, but we were introduced by a mutual friend and it was a gathering of a singles' group I belonged to.  I thought it was funny; he hated it when I said we met in a bar.  Where's your sense of humor?!!

  • Dee Holland Eidson

I was at a club with a group of friends. I thought I mentioned that. Thank you for your input.

  • Kim

A few years ago, i had a much different view on this. Back then, I wouldve said, ABSOLUTELY NOT!  NOW, I have had opportunities to meet many people and let me FIRST say, meeting someone in church or a religious person ABSOLUTELY does NOT quarantee a great match. Jerks go to church and bible studies and nice guys go to bars and wine fests...seriously...there IS no right or wrong.

ALmost 2 years ago, I was in a sports bar with a Singles Group, watching the Steelers BEAT someone (LOL) while eating and drinking. I am not a big drinker but I always have a few glasses of water before I leave a place, even after 2 drinks. So when everyone left, i went and sat at the bar. Started talking to 2 guys who wanted to buy me a drink. I could tell the one guy was a PLAYER and the other guy WASNT so I sat on the stool nearest him and he "GOT" me a water and we started talking. He was drinking a Pepsi as was his "friend" and they explained they were working in the back (remodelling part of  the bar). Part of our conversation was about the "Joel Osteen" conference that he had just went to. I figured someone who knew who he was and lived by some of the positive principles that Joel osteen talks about cant be all that bad. The guys both stood up an hour later and said, we gotta go on another job but HEY...we will be back here NEXT week and we should be done before the game starts. SO....following week, I did go back and we talked and talked alll through the game....LOL...we barely knew the STeelers WON again....LOL!! THEN, he asked me out and we have been together ever since. He is one of the kindest people I know.

  • Dee Holland Eidson

Thank You for your comment  Kim.It was really appreciated. I plan on going back to that club .My friends go there quite often.

Thanks Steve, I just completed the survey too. Who knows?

  • Sherrie Little

Steve and Raven, the survey on eons.com is the same survey we completed last year.  If you check Eons out on their Facebook page, there has been nothing posted since October of last year.  They didn't even update us on anything that was going on.  I feel the same as you do, Raven, I loved Eons.  It's a shame they couldn't make it work.
