That's a common story...being adopted by a cat. Twenty-three years ago a cat had her kittens in the basement of the apartment house I was living in and my kids insisted on feeding them. When the kittens were about 2 months old, I came home from college one day to find the mother at my door. She moved away when I approached the door and waited till I opened it. When I stepped asade, she calmly walked in and looked around and then left. when my kids came home  a bit latter, they found one kitten in front of the door and the mother coming up the stairs with another in her mouth. So we were adopted also.

I wıll tell you about my felıne famıly - thıs female puss arrıved at our house and decıded she would move ın wıth us.  She then had two sets of kıttıes - all of whıch dısappeared except one - Vıctor who ıs stıll wıth us.  Both of these are gınger tabbıes.  Then one day I was sunbathıng on the terrace and thıs whıte male wıth nıce grey markıngs saıd Meow and rubbed agaınst my legs.  I thought he seemed nıce and frıendly but, as usual ın Turkey, he was a bıt shabby and underfed lookıng but wıth a nıce temprement!  So he decıded to move ın wıth us, so now we have 3.  Thıs guy ıs called Buttons!   So that's our felıne famıly!

Slipper came by his name by the mrs.  On the first day we had him, he played all day with her slippers and the name stuck.

Slipper is an unsual name for an animal, Anthony. How did his come by this moniker?

I posted a picture of our cat Slipper.  He is 10 years old.  He origianally was to be our daughter's cat but since he started out with us our daughter kept him with us after she was married.  We had gotten him at 3 months.  The cousin of our daughter's fiance discovered him in a box in front of a church where she lives.  It was decided to bring him to our house so our daughter can have him.  She took care of all of the vet expenses plus the declawing.  He has become very attached to the mrs of the house once our daughter was married.  He has discovered all the corners of the house where he can find a place to nap.  He has a good life.
