Ughhhh!  Snow is lovely when it comes....but oh so lovely when it leaves...
Time to hit the slopes BAF...I always loved Spring skiing.
A few pics that were taken this morning. This is a cemetery that was filled with tombstones until Wednesday...all gone with the wind. There were riverfront homes here...gone. The destruction is mind boggling to see in person. Four friends homes...gone. five people that I knew...gone.
It blew away tombstones, WoW. Did you have any damage.

This is a phone pic of one of the tornados that passed over my Mothers house in Birmingham. It had just retreated. A couple of miles down the road it was back on the ground. Neither me nor any of my family suffered any damage to our homes or property. The power came back on at my house a couple of hours ago. The whole county that I live in (Walker) is without drinking water, they are telling us to boil it for 5 minutes if we have no choice but to drink it.

The pic above is the tornado that came through B'ham. You can see on the tracking chart the gap just east of B'ham. That gap is where the pic was taken.
That was a live tree in the middle pic. The wind stripped the bark of of it.
There is a pontoon boat in there. this area was filled with beautiful waterfront homes, most are gone, the few that were left standing are damaged so badly as to be un-salvageable. This was an f5 that stayed on the ground for over 180 miles and was a mile wide, it left a path of utter and complete devastation. I have seen firsthand the end result of a number of hurricanes and tornados, but I have never seen anything like this.
Unimaginable devastation and grief....I will not ever whine...not ever.

It's mind boggling. I know that Tuscaloosa is getting most coverage on the news, but there were whole towns and communities that were wiped off the map all over central Alabama.  A friend of mine who lost his home, said to me today, "It's like a dream, this can't be real" I haven't talked to anybody since the storms that was not affected, in some way.

A lot of videos have been made.

Powerfully heartwrenching!
Dry, windy and hot.  11/100's of inch rain this month.  Next lowest April rainfall was 22/100's of inch in 1935.
