What was your Saturday morning routine as a kid?

Mine involved Tennessee Tuxedo, Underdog, Wacky Racers and The Cisco Kid.  I'd usually watch these will picking the marshmallows out of a box of Lucky Charms.  There were only four kinds of marshmallows in them back then: Pink hearts, yellow moons, orange stars and green clovers.  They added blue diamonds sometime before I hit college, but last time I looked they had about thirty different shapes and colors.

I'll get back to ya........going to require revisiting some real old memories.

Oh boy...for cereal, we had Kix, Cheerios, and later, Frosted Flakes.  For TV, it was Mighty Mouse, Looney Toons, Sky King, Fury, and yes, the Cisco Kid.

I forgot to add Johnny Quest.

It was my chore to clean the bathroom on Sat mornings.  I remember having the rag in my hand and running back and forth during the commercials.

We had chores every Sat. morning, but after that it was the Three Stooges, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Yogi Bear, Top Cat, The Lone Ranger, The Cisco Kid, Roy Rodgers, Sky King and probably a few others that escape me right now.

What do you do on Saturday mornings now?

I usually have plenty of chores, the biggest and first that I tackle is making a list of all the stuff I have to do.  That takes most of the morning.

I relax, chill, kick back, mellow out, hang loose, and then when that's all done, I take a break

I like that, but I'd have to work some breakfast in there somewhere.

That's why I take the break. I need to build up enough energy to eat something.

I remember that my Dad also had chores around the house on Saturday morning.  Sometimes he'd play golf.  My mom always made the shopping list, because come hell or high water we'd be going to the supermarket that afternoon.

My Saturday mornings were like most every one else here......after we got a TV. I think I was maybe 6 years old by then.I remember my favorites.....The Lone Ranger, The Range Rider, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, Fury, Rin Tin Tin, Sky King, Rocket Man and Rocky Jones & the Space Rangers. But the most fun was going with Daddy to the Market Square in Cleburne, the County Seat......when he would let me go. That was the fore runner of today's Farmer's Markets....there were cattle and horses for sale, hay, fence posts, tractor and plow parts, saddles, harnesses, some fresh vegetables in season....not a lot cause back then in a farming community most everyone had a garden. Those sights, sounds and smells are gone now....probably never to be repeated. But I have the memories.

Good memories.  One of the actors that played a munchkin in The Wizard of Oz shopped at the same store as us.  We hoped every week that we'd see him there.
