Reina and Callie are the first cats that I've had that are not declawed. Since I got the 2 level stand, they've utilized it for scratching. Other than less wear and tear on my furniture, I don't see any benefit to declawing. What do the rest of you think?

When we got Slipper, he was our daughter's cat and she chose to have him declawed and neutered.  He became our cat when she moved out and her husband had gotten 2 cats in the meantime.  Declawing did save our furniture.  Unfortunately we had to watch in the beginning that he did not get outside.  Now that he is older and knows better, he does not look to go outside.  In fact he stays away from open doors that lead outside.
