Einstein's theory suggests nothing is faster. But some cosmologists suggest the Universe expanded faster then the speed of light.Black holes however, and super massive black holes, suggest to me that terminal velocity is finite. And how about the…Continue

This is a flat, non-animated graphic. It's interesting how human perception is unable to view this as an unmoving photo.

Phil Jackson's illustrious career ends in ignominy - quite an irony!

"Stay humble and stay hungry"

Dallas Mavericks' coach Rick Carlyle's philosophy after going ahead of the LA LA Lakers 3-0 in the best of 7 series in the Western Conference Semi Finals.

Yes, good advice for life.

We are an "everybody's a winner, nobody's a loser" type of society.  At least we pretend to be.

I know, I get it but it was the initial use of the word genius with the word "everyone" by EInstein which sparked my disagreement. I usually think of genius as queued up with intelligence. I like Gardiner but I think rather than call it intelligence he should have used the word aptitude. Also, I think such one dimensionality relates to savant status but I'm unsure there.

There are musical geniuses, literary geniuses, etc who could be dumb in other areas. Einstein would have been probably placed in Special Ed during his primary education years.

My grandfather was one of 3 in his village town ever to graduate HS in  3 yrs. He was a mayor at a young age--late 20s or early 30s. He excelled in both in Literature, Math, and Science. I don't know about the Arts. There was no IQ test administered in his villagetown during his time, so his genius is only an assumption by others. Many of his direct descendants have reached high ranking positions both in the Philippines and abroad and have gone to top notch colleges, but according to non relatives, noone could equal him in native intelligence.

My mom is exceptionally good in Math (year book distinction- girl with the strongest reasoning power), but her English leaves much to be desired. LoL

Genius is what? 160+ IQ? or is it higher?
Comment by Apposite on May 4, 2011 at 3:38pm

I mean Einstein did not have to use the word genius as hyperbole!

Comment by Apposite on May 4, 2011 at 3:37pm
The thing is though Maricel, is that genius is wrong term then; that wrong usage seems particularly so with a man like Einstein using it, who - if any lay person can identify an example of genius, if would be him.
