i finally got that diverter for my shower .. had to go to a few places tho first .. i still don't know what brand of faucet and shower i have tho . but whatever it is its lasted this long no sense in remodelin the place over a 10 dollar part .. lets hope this one lasts for another 43 years .. funny thing tho but somehow i got the diverter in backwards so the way you'd normally turn the handle to put the shower on puts the water to the tub on and vice versa .. it only goes in one way so i have no clue how i did it but thats the way it will stay .. nancy noticed it right away .. i said nahh it can't be .. but i shoulda knew better than to even try to argue with her .. she's so precise .. ehh ..won't be the first time  i screwed somethin in that bathroom up .. above the shower once you pull the curtain it gets pretty dark in there cause the only light in the bathroom was one of them vanity light bars above the medicine chest .. and its pretty bright .. has 5 bulbs which is way way overkill for such a small bathroom .. so i got a wild hair up my ass and decided to put a light over the shower so i put in a translucent panel  over the shower and put a light fixture behind it .. perfect right ?? wrong .. ya see when i moved in here this house was a mess .. if i turned on my bedroom light it would turn on the ceiling fan in the next bedroom .. no lie .. i spent days rewirein everything so it would make sense and i put an exhaust fan in the bathroom .. along with a new toilet and sink and countertop .. ( the old toilet and sink .. and the tub too were green .. the tub still is ) along with the new medicine chest and light bar.. so far so good .. but when i put the light in the shower i decided to put a switch on the fan so it would only come on when i put the fan on .. well .. my idea was right but i musta got my wires crossed cause now the light goes out if i put the fan on .. and yeah yeah i can go in and rewire it but who shives a git .. by the time i got done that was the way i left it . so my tub is olive green , my shower diverter is backwards and my fan goes off when the light in the shower is on .. but hey .. i'm not jethro bodine anymore .. and nancy don't have to be ellie may clampett . ( altho she did like it when i washed her hair in the pool ..) soooo, life is good . sometimes you just have to get used to goin left when you should go right .. no complaints .. even tho i kinda feel like tim the toolman taylor from time to time .. anybody here ever have one of them home improvement projects that don't go exactly like you planned but in the end it still does what you wanted it to .. maybe not exactly the way you wanted it to .. but it works ??

I replaced a wall light switch in my family room. It controlled recessed ceiling lights, a dimmer for the lights, and a ceiling light fixture with a rotating fan. When I was done I tried everything and it all worked great...except that I had purchased the wrong light switch fixture and there was no switch to turn on the fan. Being a problem solver I went to the store and purchased a rotating floor fan. I guess you could say I'm a genius as my new fan can be moved from room to room.

The story of my life, and you get so used to dealing with whatever it is the wrong way, it seems normal ... until someone else comes over and says, "WTF?  Did you know blah blah blah ...???"  Yeah, I know, just do it the other way.  Every light switch in my friend's house in Chicago was put in backwards, you had to turn the switch the opposite way from normal to turn them on or off, and her hot water came out of the cold water spigot and vice versa ... you got used to it after awhile, lol!

When my x ran off i and the girls moved to my dads . I asked my employer for some old lumber 5 quarter popular boards . I decided to build a room on to a 12x60 foot mobile home . Didn't have much trouble building the frame although i cut the rip saw cord into on first cut . Getting the roof put on and not leak wasn't planed to good . I put a layer of tar paper on the roof . That will do for a while . Well we had an ice storm come through . All was well till it started melting . Those spears come a falling and came through into my room . It was a wonder i didn't get stabbed . After all cleared out you could see the stars above . Next day i got some roll stuff like shingles were made of . That did stopped the leaks overhead . But where i connected the room to trailer  never did stop the leaks no matter how much black mammy i poured on it . When i put my 2x4's on the trailer wall i just happened to drive an 8 inch nail into the breaker box of the mobile home . It shorted out several lights in the kitchen and living room . I fixed them lights by installing 4 foot florescent  lights that fixed that . Went back and drove that huge nail by through . Luck had it that it didn't have power on it .

Where i live now i ran some wires off breaker box on side of house 100 amp service is all i got . I put a lock on that box so power company can't see inside it . Works for me .

Black Mammy is liquid tar . It comes in a five gallon bucket . People painted it on tin roof to seal leaks . That was what they called it back in the 50's and 60's . Don't know what they call it today and time .

I always thought that was its real name. Perhaps I was wrong.
